"Put me down you... you... oaf!" I yell as  I punch, kick and squirm on his shoulder in hope to be let free, but nothing seem to work at my favor. He tightens his grip on me almost to the point that it was hard to breathe. His grip and this girdle clutching around my stomach were almost unbearable.

"Miss Kray, I look nothing like an oaf," he says amusingly. I swear. I know a proper Christian woman are not supposes to swear, God do forgive; but ever since he carried me off I could feel a smirk tugging on his lips. Then again I could be wrong, but how can someone so sinister look like a God sent from above?

"You probably don't know how an oaf looks." He says amusingly under his breath, waking me from the thoughts of him that invades my mind.

“Matter of fact, I do. He is the carrying me away against my will!” I answer angrily as I begin to bunch him harder near his spine.

“Put. Me. Down!” I yell out loud, hitting with a hard blow.

He stops walking abruptly, seizing me in still silence. Only sound was heard was the rustling of leaves and the crisp wind that whips the air with its song.

Moments of silence passes by until he gently plants me to my feet. Facing him, his hands wrapped around my hips, his boring into my soul, I feel as if he was thundering in his thoughts. I begin to back away, but his strong grip keeps me in place. I’m pulled into chest, my face resting on his hard ripples, my ears heeding to sound of his heart. Solemn sparks sail across my skin like a brush on a canvas.

This moment reminds me of a romance novel lying on my bedroom shelf. Other than the Bible, I read romance novels; my guilty pleasure. They somehow give me hope one day my soul mate will find and rescue me from the chains of society that bounds me to an unwanted life wanted by many. Of course, that dream was soon shattered when I receiving a proposal from a Henry that I only heard stories about, never have seen his face.

There I am standing here in front of a stranger, thinking about love, romance and soul mates. What is wrong with me? I should be fighting from his grip, running from my life, but no. I’m just standing here stiff as a tree trunk, taking in this moment like it was met to be.

“Mary,” My heart flutters at the sound of my name. Suddenly he pulls away looking ahead of me.

"Keep heading straight ahead, don't turn left or right. You'll find the fence there." He says, he points to the direction then begins to walk away.

"Wait." I quickly grabbed his shirt, yanking him back to me.

"How did you-" I started. "You should go... there are others out here, and they're not as nice as me," he said with a grin on his face. I nodded, turned around, and started running towards home.

Five minutes later, I finally reached my destination. I was out of breath, gasping for air. After a few minutes, I finally caught my breath. Slowly walking towards the fence, I took one last wift of the fresh air. Probably will be my last until I'm married and put in someone else's care.

How I wish my soul mate would come and rescue me, and take me away from this dreadful place. Treat me like the person I am, not the person seen in the expensive clothing and big house. I want someone to love me for who I am. Only if they knew what it was really like behind these castle walls, they would understand why I want to be taken far away from here.

Finally, stepping out of my mind, I started to climb the fence until someone grabbed me from behind, gagged my mouth and carried me away. Not again! What's with this nonsense!

Struggling to break free of his grip, my cross slipped from my neck and landed on a bed of grass. A tear slipped my eye as the man stepped on it, walking further away from where it laid while carrying me in his arms.

"Be careful what you wish for, or it will truly come true." My mother's voice rang inside my head. I mean, I did want someone to take me away, but not just anyone. My soul mate! And I knew this man holding me tight in his arms, is not... repeating. IS NOT!!! My soul mate!
