Mary's POV:
My heart is beating rapidly in a manner that I never felt before. Fear creeps upon my like a shadow in the night. I can feel the heightening of breath with every step he takes further away from the fence. The words of Joshua find its way into my mind, '... there are others out here, and they're not as nice as me.'
Most of my tears silently fall onto the gravel below, while the rest lay stroking my face as I am held in my captors tightly. My heart tightens as well as his grip; my poor stomach pays the price for my disobedience. It's becoming hard to breathe every second from my nose, I start to catch and release air from lips; only doing just little in my favor. Slowly becoming light headed my thoughts start wonder around the unbreakable silence that surrounded me. Where is he taking me? What was he going to do to me? They were the questions that ran through my mind.
Coming to a complete stop, he has loosened his hold on me. I began to breathe heavily from my nose breaking the silence that once surrounded us. Before one thought could enter my mind, my captor tightened his grip on me slightly and began walk again. Feeling uncomfortable I began to squirm in his arms; before I knew it I heard a vicious growl invade our surroundings. My heart began to race as lay motionless on my captor’s shoulders. I am utterly defenseless, anyway.
I would use my hands and feet to fight back, but his arm that pressured against my back also had my poor weak arms trapped. He also had his free arm wrapped around my dangling legs. No means of defense, I am trapped, trapped in the arms of a bandit. I am already defeated without even trying. Regret passes through my mind, 'why did let curiosity get the better of me?' I thought to myself as cloud dizziness overtook me.
Where is the search party? When will they find me? On the verge of tears my mind flies towards many doubts and hopes in my mind. All I have right now is my faith and God. And I know that God will always come through for me.
Time slips away after it seems like hours of starring at the gravel below. My parents must be worried by now, and must have sent some men after me. I wish they would hurry and save me from this horrid nightmare. I don't think this man is as kind as Joshua, who helped me find my way home. I think he has something more different in mind, and I know I'll soon find out what.
In acceptance of my fate I begin to relax my rigid body unto his shoulder. As I lay, I feel as if I'm sand being carried off by a waves of the ocean. I heard of the beach in my romantic novels, but never went to one. I always dreamt of my soul mate taking me there and planting my first kiss underneath the moonlight, as smell of the ocean engulfed our noses and nothing but sound of the waves surrounding us.
The smoothing thoughts of the beach calmed my poor heart. All of the sudden overwhelming tiredness overtook my body, my eyes became heavy, and darkness and silence became one.
