"My ghost where did you go?"

I sang with the radio, I changed the radio station before Halsey made me more emotional than ever.

While I waited for the traffic light to turn green I looked at my surroundings , my eyes landed on a small baby shop, it caught my attention so when the the traffic light turned green I made a u-turn and parked in front of it.

Now I can see why soon to be mothers love shopping , its so much fun. I look down at my stomach and even though there isn't a bump yet , I know I will grow to love this child.

"Skyler is that you?" I lifted my head taking my eyes away from my stomach as I heard someone calling my name.

"Over here" I turned around and spotted Jane.

Dear lord.

Help.

It was Jane Morgan aka Alexander's mother.

I smiled
"Jane it's been a while"I said as she reached to where I was standing

"Three years I think" she laughed "How are you dear?" Truth she always was like a mother to me , she actually took my side when Alex and I were going through the divorce.

"I'm good , just looking around , how are you? I asked while she picked up a pair of pink shoes

"Well i'm good ,soon to be a grandmother actually" she said as she moved to a different section while I followed

"Awww Congratulations, Nicki is going to turn out to be a great mom i'm sure of it."
"How about you ? What brings you here?"that was the million dollar question

Jane has always supported me from the start , she deserves the truth. She is going to be the baby's grandmother after all.

"I'm pregnant" I said

"That's how I got pregnant , but please don't tell him" I said telling her the whole story of how I ended up here while we were at a near by cafe.

"We must tell Nicki she can keep deep secrets . When is you're next appointment I want to be there?"

"Um wow, are you sure , it's next week"

"Yes, i'm positive. I want to see the grandchild I've always wanted. In truth I wish you and Alexander could've worked out the problems and stayed together. Sadly he's too pigheaded and irresponsible like his father." She said as she rolled her eyes. I laughed as I saw her start to crack a smile and she laughed with me.

"Thank you, I would love for you to be there. I would actually love if you were part of his or her life. You were always like a mother to me and I want you to know your grandchildren."

"Awe, Skyler, thank you. Nothing would make me happier." She said as she held her hand to her heart. I could tell she was very touched by my offer. Then she gave me a hug. "I would like to have dinner with you soon. Maybe you should meet up with Nicki and you two can join forces again. Then the three of us could all have a ladies brunch maybe, with Nia I haven't seen her in a while. How is she doing?"

"Haha, 'join forces'? Nia is great, same as always I suppose."

"Yes, join forces. You know you three were like lady musketeers."

"Yes, we were. Does Nicki have a new number? I'm gonna give her a call."

"Nope she has the same number."

"Good. It was great talking to you, but I have to get going now." I said once I noticed how much time had passed.

"Oh of course!" She gave me another hug and a kiss on the cheek as she said her goodbyes. Then before I knew it I was back on the road and hadn't looked at many baby clothes.
