Ashton's POV:

"Daddy, what happened to other daddy? I never met him" My son looked up at me with the big blue eyes that reminded me so much of his father.

"I don't know if I should tell you this yet little man - you're only 11 remember" I sent him a sympathetic smile, knowing how curious he can get.

"Please daddy, I'll be a big boy - mature, just like you" He pried on, his puppy dog eyes leading me into telling him.

He continued staring up at me, a slight pout won in his lips. I sighed before lifting him up to sit on my lap, his lips immediately curved into a huge smile.

"By the time I was your age I'd give anything, to fall in love truly was all I could think, that's when I met your father - the guy of me dreams - the most beautiful young man that I'd ever seen" I started - a small smile appearing on my lips from reminiscing the best times of my life.

Charlie was staring up at me, all attention directed to the story that he had pried on and on about for the last few weeks for some unknown reason.

"He said, "Boy can I tell you a wonderful thing? I can't help but notice, you're staring at me - which was most definitely true by the way - I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe, I can tell by your eyes that you're in love with me." He let a shy giggle at the topic of love, both of our smiles growing - full dimples.

"Now son, I'm only telling you this because life can do Terrible Things" I reminded him once again. He gave his head a fast nod up and down to show me that he understood, eager for me to proceed.

"Now, most of the time we'd have too much to drink and we'd laugh at the stars and we'd share everything, too young to notice and too dumb to care, love was a story that couldn't compare." I continued with the story for his.

"Would you drink alcohol?" He had a shocked voice on, obviously having received his lesson on why it's bad for people. His statement along with his innocence earned a tiny chuckle from me and I'm sure if Luke was here he would've chuckled too.

"Yeah, yeah we did because other daddy was very naughty and convinced me to" I giggled at the memory of us skipping gym class and, later on in life, work to get drunk on the field by our house.

"I'm not gonna' ever drink daddy because I want to be a big, strong football player - just like uncle Calum" He told me.

He had always loved Calum more than Michael because he and Calum would always play football in the field but Michael was - and still is - too busy playing video games. They were both like other fathers for him, although they knew they could never replace Luke.

"I said, "Boy, can I tell you a wonderful thing? I made you a present with paper and string. Open with care now, I'm asking you, please. You know that I love you, will you marry me?" I had memorised these words even before asking him all those years ago. I can still feel how sweaty my palms were that whole day. Charlie had let out another giggle almost identical to my own at this point.

"Did he say yes Daddy?" He asked quizzically, squirming on my lap with excitement.

"He did Charlie, thank God, I was very nervous" I told him, his eyes lighting up with happiness.
