Luke's POV:

I peacefully awoke from my slumber to the sound of tweeting birds up in the trees. I used my hand to prop myself up, the concrete digging into my skin slightly.

I knew the police would be looking for me so I decided I should start running. I jogged down the alleyway until I reached the opening that led to the forest. Squishing my body tightly to the fence, I peeked around the corner to see lights scanning the forest.

Crap.

They were near. I could already hear Ashton's voice, I needed to think fast. I sprinted round the corner, trying to keep close to the side, even though it was no use.

"Hey!"

"Get him!"

"What's that?"

"Quick!"

"He's there" I knew that voice, it was Ashton's. Ashton was always there when the police were looking for me.

I didn't stop running the whole time, not daring to look behind me. I could hear the footsteps getting nearer and nearer but I knew it wasn't near enough, at least I hoped so.

I dashed around the corner, not bothering to look. I crashed into an old lady and, although I felt bad about it, I couldn't stop.
The streets were crowded with people, only just squeezing through them before making a sharp turn into one of the shops. It was a risky move but I knew Ashton would be getting closer. Soon enough, Ashton sprinted past the shop, not giving me a second glance before turning a sharp corner.

After waiting 5 minutes or so, all the police officers had ran past, not bothering to look into the shop. I tucked my head down in case there were posters up. To my surprise, there wasn't any and I was able to roam freely around the streets. Soon enough, it was time for my tea so I made my way to the dump. I found an apple core but that was it, I suppose it would have to be enough. I devoured the thing like I hadn't eaten in day, probably because I haven't.

I smoothed down the ripped piece of fabric I called a top, my finger gliding along my ribs that were sticking out from my body, begging for food. After looking around the dump for a while longer, I notice a police car pull up. I knew I should have left earlier.

Ashton stepped out along with an old woman - the one that I had bumped into - and another police officer that I vaguely recognized.

I ducked behind a junk pile, although I knew it would be no use. I heard a car door slam shut, but I couldn't see anything over the mountain of rubbish that lay before me.

I made my way round the pile, uselessly ducking as I ran. I had to make the most of my large tea - it was very large for me anyway. Soon enough, I had gotten round the whole dump and to the police car. The back door was still open. I didn't second guess my thoughts before I ran to the car, jumping into the front seat. There was something suspicious going on, Why would the police officers leave the keys in the car?

I didn't give myself time to think. Time was something I could never afford to waste, especially not now. The engine roared to life and I sped down the road in zig-zag lines. I was never taught how I drive but I had stolen cars before, unfortunately, I couldn't keep them for so long. I was humming along to the radio when I decided to look in the mirror situated in the middle of the roof, only slightly hanging down.

I was attempting to get the hair out of my eyes when I saw movement from underneath the seats. What was that? I pulled over, pulling the door handles in an attempt to get out but was pulled back before I could.

"You're not going anywhere!" Ashton declared a smirk on his face.

"What's that?" I pointed to outside the window, Ashton looking of course. I pulled away from his grip and began sprinting down the streets.

However, it was more like a jog or a half jog. I had used all my energy running today. I collapsed to the floor in a heap, only a thin layer of skin uselessly covering my vulnerable ribs that felt like they had shattered with my fall

It didn't take long for Ashton to pull me from the floor an get me in hand cuffs. He started to tell me that 'I had the right to remain silent' and the rest of the speech I didn't bother to listen to.

He turned me around to face him and I just fell into his arms. I cried and sobbed until my sobs turned into the odd sniffle. He soothingly drew circles on back with his thumb until I finally looked up at him.

"Why are you doing this for me?" I knew my eyes would be red and puffy and I would have looked as vulnerable as ever. Yet we were stood in the deserted streets... hugging.

"I want to know your story" He replied with a genuine smile as we slowly walked to the car. When I say 'we' I mean he dragged me whilst I tried to stumble along the path. When we got to the car no words were spoken, Ashton just got a plastic bag full of food  - I presume it was his lunch - and gave it to me. My eyes widened at the sight, delighted to see and smell the godly food.

"Thank you", was all i manages to mutter before devouring the delicious food, licking my fingers one i was done.

"Enjoy that?" Ashton chuckled, i had only just realized he had been watching me intently whilst i gobbled up the food, not that it took long. I nodded eagerly, continuing to lick my fingers clean of any taste but my own.

"Now, how did we end up here?" I didn't understand what he meant at first, but i soon clicked on. He meant me, how messed up my life was.

"My parents kicked me out when i was 9. I needed, and still do need, money but I'm not very good at finding it." I replied bluntly, pointing at the ripped cold play shirt that hung over my scrawny body, my ribs clearly visible. He didn't reply, just started the car and began to drive, no questions were asked, i didn't think there was any need. I would go to prison. Ashton would keep sending people, like me, to prison. When we pulled up at a a large house, I was utterly shocked.

"What are you doing?" My voice was weak but stern, this defiantly wasn't the police station. I guessed it was Ashton's house. But why was I here?

"You're going to live with me. No objections. No one deserves to be chucked out and left like that. Don't think for one minute what you did was right though" I thought he had stopped but he wasn't, "And don't think you have been forgiven"

"But I'm the villain" A slight frown grew on my face and soon enough, there was one on Ashton's face too.

"You're not a villain and even if you were, you'd be my villain" He pulled a wide smile, flashing his pearly white teeth as he did. I engulfed him in a giant embrace mumbling a 'Thank you' into his shoulder. The best thing was, he hugged me back.
