THREE WEEKS LATER:
Something about Vienna is that when she reads, she blocks everything else around her. She was reading with such concentration that she had not bothered to notice that Michael had been watching her carefully.
"You're staring." She mumbles, not looking up from the thick novel in front of her.
"Can I not look at my girlfriend?" Michael asks innocently.
Vienna couldn't help the smile on her face. "I suppose that's okay." She sets her book down, crawling across the couch to kiss him.
Her lips locked on his, a sweet and gentle kiss. He reached up to cup her face, tilting her face slightly upward.
"So this is what it takes to get you away from your books?" He laughs, pressing a series of kisses across her face.
"I'm not that easy." She mutters, pulling away slightly.
"Are you sure about that?" Michael mumbles against her lips, going in for another kiss. His soft lips pressed against hers gently. It wasn't a crazy intense kiss, but just a gentle yet meaningful action. Michael didn't want to push anything with Vienna, and she was forever grateful.
"Mmm, I'm sure." She pulls away from him, resting her head against the back of the couch.
"Darn." Michael mocks, rubbing his lips together.
"Did you know that the longest kiss ever recorded was 58 hours, 35 minutes, and 58 seconds long?" The familiar voice of Slolane came from the doorway.
Vienna jumped slightly. "Sloane, how long have you been there?"
"Long enough. One minute and 12 seconds." She leans against the doorframe. "Lia told me to come get you guys."
"What's going on?" Michael sits up.
"Sterling's here." Sloane's lips formed a tight smile before she turned and walked away.
Sterling was moving back into the house after the kidnapping incident, and today was that day.
"I've missed her." Vienna stood up.
"Oh, yeah, me too." Michael's voice was slightly sarcastic as he stood up. He was still warming up to Sterling.
"Michael." Vienna scolds, slapping his arm.
"What?"
"That was sarcastic. You have to be nice to Sterling. She almost died. And she's in charge of you."
