Chapter 20

The time passed and in about two and a half months we were outside of Tortuga, seeing it at the horizon of the ocean. At those months I got to learn with details what happened here, and my crew learnt about what happened there, at Kirkland's ship. At that time, we also encountered an English Navy ship, but we withdrew back as we saw it was going to be joined by another one English Navy ship.

"Captain! We are ready to dock at Tortuga." Rick came and announced me as I was watching my men working from the upper deck with my hands behind my back.

I nodded at the blond man and gustered him to leave. Then I went to the railing and put my hands on it and cleared my voice. "Everyone listen up! We are going to make a stop at Tortuga for a few hours. We will leave at dawn and no one will set foot on the land unless I say it. Understood?" I yelled and waited for them to nod or say the classic: 'Aye'.

After they did it, I walked towards my quarters to ready my nerves about my friend's happy-go-lucky and childish character. Sometimes, I hate you Tim. I thought and got attached at my belt a little bag full of gold coins. This bastard is going to get me broke sooner than I expected. I thought again as his information were never free.

As I looked at myself at the mirror, thinking if I should wear my coat and hat or not, there was a lightly knock on my door. "State name and business because I'm not in the mood." I said and looked at my grumpy face at the mirror.

"Alice O'Connor, I just wanted to talk to you captain." A sweet, gently voice said behind the door and after I responded with a simple 'come in', she came in and smiled at me. "Hey Scarlett. I just wanted to see you a little, to see if you are alright as the date comes closer of James death."

I turned and looked at her concerned and worried face, flashing her a sad smile. "It's going to be alright Alice. As the years pass by, I just get it more inside my mind. I couldn't help him back there."

Alice returned the sad look but she gave me a bright smile after she waited a few seconds to pass by and for me to look at myself at the mirror. "Why are you looking yourself at the mirror like that? Are you going to see someone?" She said from behind me as she hugged me and winked, meaning she was thinking something perverted.

"I'm looking at myself because I can't make my mind if I should wear my hat and my coat as I go and pay a visit to Timothy." I said casually and calmy not looking at her, trying to so hard not to fall on her trap she had in her mind.

"Hm? Really? So you are trying to look pretty in front of this old man?"

"Of course not. I just want to look as good as I can, because you never know who you might fall in front of." I said and took my long coat off and put on my hat. "I got it! I'm going to wear only my hat."

Alice just giggled and looked at me childish. "Do you want to make someone fall in lo- I mean do you want to be beautifull in front of someone specifically?" She said and gently moved her fingers around my shoulders.

"Of course not."

"Not even Kirkland?"

"Of course not even him!" What are you saying Scarlett, you want to see his green eyes again~ I blushed at the thought of his green eyes looking at mine black ones.

"Yeah, I can see that." Alice said disbelieved. "So anyway. Why are you going to carry around a sack of coins? I thought you were only going to talk with him." She gave me a confused face.
