Chapter 10

Cole's POV

"So what are you planning to do?" Drew asks.

"You'll see." She says mysteriously and disappears behind a corner. Wow. So mysterious but so sexy at the same time. I got to ask her out today, or else I'll be stuck in the friend zone forever. Drew, Luke, and I walk to the principal'soffice and see Roxy on the principal's computer.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"I'm hacking into the school information system, of course."

"You're a hacker?" Drew asks, surprised

"Not exactly. What can I do for you?"

"Can you change grades?" I ask.

"No. Sorry. Quick question, did the principal know that you were blackmailing the report card kid?"

"Ya..." I say ashamed. "I was also blackmailing her so she wouldn't tell my parents. I'm not proud of it."

"Ya... clearly. Ok. So I'm going to lengthen my detention time, change the lunch menu, and we are going to have a rapid release due to a fire drill tomorrow. Can you believe we still have fire drills? What are we? 3rd graders?"

"Wait, why are you lengthening your detention time? Shouldn't you be shortening it?" Drew asks.

"No. I'm lengthening it for a reason."

"What reason?" Luke asks.

"Personal reasons. It says here that the 3 of you have detention every day until winter break. Harsh. Want me to change it?"

"No. Keep it." Drew says quickly.

"Seriously? You don't want to get out of detention earlier than winter break?" Roxy asks, surprised

"No." He says blankly

"Why not?"

"Personal reasons." He mocks. She rolls her eyes and logs out of the computer.

"Ok.. done. Let's go before we get caught." We walk out and into the hallway again.

"Anything else you want to do?" I ask.

"Hey! Where did they go! Extra detention!" We hear the detention teacher yell. We hide behind a corner.

"He's awake!" Luke whisper-screams.

"Well ya. No shit sherlock." Drew says back.

"Guys. No time for arguing. If he finds us, he will give us extra detention. We can't leave for another 20 mins. We need to stall or something." Roxy says. "Any ideas?"

We all nod no and start thinking.

"Guys.." Roxy says nervously. "The school video cameras are recording us. If anyone sees this video, they'll give us 4 hours of detention after school." She gulps nervously.

"If you get back to the office, can you erase the footage?" I ask her.

"It doesn't matter if she can do it or not. The detention room is literally right next to the office. How do we get the teacher away from the room without seeing us?" Luke asks.

"Uh... why don't we send him on a wild goose chase or something?" Drew says

"How on earth would we do that?" I ask

"I got it! Ok. Drew, you and Luke will keep calling him from different directions to get him confused and go after you. Cole and I will sneak into the office and erase the footage as well as shut down the cameras and make it look like an accident. Got it?" Roxy says.
