Best Friend Turned Boyfriend!

New Girl!

It was five minutes since the lecture started when there was a knock on the door. We all turned our heads to see who it was.

Professor Smith went and opened the door. A girl of about five feet four inches entered the class. She was pretty and had an innocent look on her face. But I don't know why I was getting bad vibes from her.

I am not a judgemental person. Even though the girl looked innocent I knew something was off about her. I turned my head to look at Ry and chuckled seeing his reaction.

His mouth was wide open and his eyes were wide and he was looking at the girl dreamily. I leaned towards him and whispered, " Close your mouth lover boy or you might catch flies. " His mouth instantly snapped shut and he shot me an irritated look while I simply smirked.

Looks like Ry finally found his match!

" Class, she is Amelia and she's new here so I want everyone of you to behave and be nice to her. " Professor Smith said to everyone.

Some of the girls were glaring at her, some had a bored look on their faces
( I was one of them ), some were looking at her curiously while some had the decency to openly check her out. Do note my sarcasm!

" Go and sit somewhere you like. " Professor Smith said to her and she made her way to us.

" Can I sit beside you? " she asked Ry who was gaping at her like a fish. I snorted and this brought him back from the dreamland he was currently in.

" Ye-yeah ssu-sure whwhy not? " he asked while stuttering. Oh God! He was behaving as if the girl asked him to marry her right on the spot.

I chuckled a bit at the train of my thoughts and he once again looked at me in irritation. I was so enjoying his embarrassment.

" I am Ryan and you are? " I heard Ry asking her in a smooth silky voice. I had to bit my lip to keep myself from laughing. Was he deaf when the professor introduced her saying her name was Amelia? I know he's nervous but did he have to make it so obvious.

" Hi, my name is Amelia. " she replied softly. " And what's your girlfriend's name ?" She asked and I choked on my breath and turned my head to see Ry doing the same. " I am not his girlfriend. " I told her blankly.

I am not rude to people but I am not exactly nice either. It takes me very long to warm up to other people. I decide whom I talk to.

" Yeah, she isn't my girlfriend. She's my best friend Ileana." He told her while giving her a smile. " Oh. I am sorry. Nice to meet you Ileana." She said giving me a smile while all I did was stare at her and then turned my head to listen to the professor.

I grunted when Ry discreetly hit me with his elbow. " What? " I hissed at him. " Be nice to her. " he hissed back. " And why would I ?" I asked him.
" Well because because-" he stammered and I asked " Because what? You fancy her, don't you? "

His whole face turned red. He blushes so easily. " What! Of course not! " and when I gave him the look ' don't even try buddy' he sighed and then said,
" Yeah, I guess I like her. "

My mouth popped open because it was first time in our seven years of friendship that he admitted that he actually likes someone.

" But you have just met her. You don't even know her. " I told him which was true. He just met her fucking ten seconds ago and he likes her. " Yeah I know but I think she is the one for me. Don't you think she's my type? She's pretty, shy and she's a nerd like me. She's perfect for me." He added the last sentence a bit dreamily.

" You know what? You are fucking nuts Ry. All you did was look at her and you decided that she's the one for you. There's more to a person than how he or she looks. What if this is all an act? " I told him furiously.

I always had a problem with trusting people easily while Ry was completely opposite of me. It's not a bad thing to trust people easily but it's not a good thing either. And I swear that Ry is so dense sometimes that he wouldn't even know if the person is using him or not so I always worry about him.

And here he is claiming that he likes a girl whom he doesn't even know a thing about. I don't even know what actually goes on in his fucking mind.

" I know Ana that you don't trust people easily but that doesn't mean you can say anything about her. For the first time I actually like a girl in my life so don't spoil it for me. " he hissed at me so sir wouldn't hear us.

It took me a minute to comprehend what he said but when it did my eyes widened and I replied, " So you mean to say that I am going to spoil this for you. " My voice was calm. Very calm. Which can mean only one thing, that I was beyond furious at the moment.

I guess Ry realized that and he also realized his mistake because his eyes widened. Never in our seven years of friendship he talked to me like that.
He opened his mouth to say something when the bell rang and I stood up angrily and without even giving a backward glance, walked out.

I heard him calling my name from behind but I was too far gone to care. He wants her so he can have her for all I care but this time I am not gonna say a single damn thing to him. Do what he wants to do.
