Why does college needs to be so expensive? Not that I don't like working at Starbucks, the payment is okay and I have great colleagues but it's so hard to balance work and studying. College already feels like a fulltime job and besides that I have to work four times a week to afford college. It's exhausting. The only thing to cheer me up a little is this guy who comes in to get a coffee every single time I'm working. I didn't really notice him at first but my colleague Sam called my attention to him as he happens to order his coffee only from me. In the next couple of weeks I looked out for that guy and Sam was right. My working schedule is always the same and he comes in to order coffee at the exact same time every day that I'm working.

I have to admit, he is really good looking. Brown eyes, brown hair (and a cute haircut) and he is pretty tall. He always wears black skinny jeans and either a dark shirt or some shirt with weird prints on. Through the countless orders of coffee I managed to remember his name. Dan. After a few more days secretly watching him I started just giving him his coffee before he was able to order it and I hoped he would maybe talk to me but he only gave me a little smile and walked off. I was a bit disappointed because I thought he likes me. Why else would he order his coffee only from me, four days a week, at the exact same time? But then I noticed that he sat down sipping at his coffee and he did not leave until I finished my shift.

"Hey Y/N. Your boy is still sitting there. I bet he will finally talk to you after your shift."

"He is not my boy, Sam! I don't even know him."

"We will see. But don't turn him down when he asks you out." I was about to interrupt Sam but he ignored me. "I know you like him. Don't even try to deny it. Just go for it. You have nothing to lose."

"I could lose a loyal customer." Sam laughed. "I'm gonna go now. See you tomorrow." I waved at him and left the store. I only walked a few meters when I heard his voice behind me.

"Hey. I'm really sorry. I don't want to bother you or something but I just want to talk to you if that's okay." I turned around and saw him blushing. How cute was that?

"Sure. I don't mind."

"Hi, I'm Dan.", he introduced himself.

"I know. I wrote your name on a cup about a hundred times.", I joked. He looked confused. "I'm just kidding. Hey, I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you."

"It's really nice to meet you, too. I mean, officially. I wonder if you would like to go out for dinner sometime?" He stuttered a little bit and I could tell that he was really nervous to ask me. It was literally the cutest thing ever.

"Yeah, I would like that."

"Great. Are you free tomorrow night? I could cook for you if you like?"

"You can cook?", I laughed a little. I always liked boys who can cook because I am a miserable cook. "I think you need to prove that."

"I mean I'm not a professional but no one died yet, so I guess it's not that bad. 8 p.m. at my place than?"

"Sure. I give you my number so you can text me the address." Dan gave me his phone and I tipped in my phone number.

"Great. I see you tomorrow." He smiled at me once again and head towards the next underground station.

"I guess I have a date than.", I said to myself and walked home.
