The clinking of glasses and  clattering of silverware filled the air. Million-dollar voices could be head chuckling and chattering about how rich they were. It smelled of overpriced meat and vanilla blossoms. Bruce of course took no notice of any of these things. His main focus was the way nat scrunched her nose when she would laugh at him. Or the way she radiated light to the room. He looked like a lovesick puppy; completely wrapped around her finger. "Fury wants to send us all to Rome." Nat said sipping her champagne. Bruce snapped from his trance, "He's out of hiding?" Bruce questioned pushing his potatoes around his plate. May nodded and the waiter came taking their empty plates. "Would you like dessert?" The waiter inquired and braces heart started to pound. "We agreed on the dark raspberry cheesecake." Bruce said his palms sweating a bit. He whipped them on his pant legs. The waiter smiled at Bruce nodding and started to leave when Nat called him back. "I'm way to full honey." She said to the waiter who looked to Bruce in a panicked manner. Bruce in shock stuttered his brain not knowing what to do in this kind of situation. "But..." He panicked. Natasha called the waiters attention back to him, "Just the check please." She said fluttering her eyelashes at him. He nodded just as stunned as Bruce was. He stumbled away then regaining his composure walked out of their sight. Bruce turned back to Nat his mouth wide open slightly. "When did you...c--*nervous cough* change your mind." He said taking a gulp of his water. "The moment you started sweating she said pulling out her phone, not looking at Bruce. Bruce swallowed, did she know? He asked himself feeling very embarrassed. The waiter came back and Bruce handed him his card. The waiter then scurried away again. When he retuned he handed Bruce his card and dropped something in his hand with it. Bruce sighed as Natasha stood. She looked stunning with her hair up and loosely curled. He didn't know what he was going to do now and she was driving him nuts. Did she not want this? He caught up to her when she got their coats.(More in Comments)
She handed Bruce's to him as if nothing was wrong, but Bruce knew better. As they left the restaurant and entered the frisk night air Bruce had to almost jog to keep up with Nat. What was she doing?! How was she walking so fast in those heals? Was his next question. He eventually caught up when she reached the bridge. The cold breeze from the rushing water made Bruce shiver. Traffic whizzed by not helping with the cold. He looked over the concrete edge at the rushing water and attempted to hold Nats hand. His fingers barley brushed hers when she moved it away harshly. "Natasha." he called sadly, his heart sinking. "What Bruce?" She said coldly stopping in her tracks. Turning to face him. Her long dress flowing around in the breeze. She looked stunning...and really angry. "What did I do?" He asked honestly. She scoffed, "Really Bruce you choose the fanciest restaurant, made me dress in this really uncomfortable outfit and then asked to share dessert...hmm What does that sound like?!" She yelled throwing her hands up. "A damn good date!" He yelled back over the water and traffic.

"No Bruce! No! It sounds like a Corny Proposal!!" She yelled at him throwing her arms in the air.
Bruce's face turned bright red, "I'm not supposed to be in stressful situations!! Why would I marry you?!" He said not really meaning it. He felt angry, but now angry enough to turn into the other guy. Nat looked hurt for a split second. What did he just say?! He wanted to marry her so bad. "Wait, Nat...I didn't mean that." He said reaching for her. She pulled back, "What the hell is your game?" She asked her voice cracking a bit. Bruce had really cut her deep and she was trying to rebuild the wall. She took a couple steps back and began to turn around; she was leaving him. Bruce began to panic, he was letting her slip through his fingers. He turned around adrenaline pumping, blood rushing in his ears. He began to climb up the bridge. He stood on a higher ledge he looked down and he was bout ten feet up. His legs went a little weak. "NATASHA!" He screamed she turned around looking for him. He called again and she looked up, her perfect face tears streaming down. "What the hell are you doing?!" She yelled but Bruce could barley hear it over the rushing water and noisy traffic. She jogged back towards him. "I'm nothing without you!" He called down to her. She whipped her face, a couple people stopped and pointed at him and were staring at Nat. "Get down here I don't want to save your sorry ass!" She said worried he would do something stupid. He leaned back shakily got down on one knee. His foot hanging over a 40ft drop. "Natasha, marry me?!" He said closing his eyes and swallowing hard he looked down at Natasha who was pacing spouting profanities.

"Get down here you Idiot!" She screamed up at him.

"Marry me!"

"You're embarrassing me!"

"Is this original enough for you?! Marry me Dammit!" He yelled down at her slightly loosing his balance. He grabbed one of the wires to balance scared shitless.

"FINE!" She screamed tears again falling down her face. "Fine! I'll marry you! Now get down here safely!" She called to him. He smiled, how the hell did that work? He began to slowly climb down. They had acquired quite an audience. Once he was close to the bottom Natasha grabbed his waist and guided him the rest of the way down. Bruce breathed a sigh of relief when both his feet touched the ground. He turned around and instantly a pair of arms wrapped around his shoulders. Nat pulled herself close to him. He wrapped his arms around her.

"You're an asshole." She said in his ear hugging him tighter. He chuckled smiling into her hair. People clapped and a couple people whistled. Bruce pulled away and dug in his pocket for the ring. He took Nat's left hand. She looked down as he slid the simple, diamond ring on her finger.

"I hate you." She said looking back at him. Worry and tears stained we face. He placed a hand on her face.

"I adore you." He said he tilted her head back and kissed his new fiancé. She responded again throwing her arms around his shoulders. He smiled against her lips picking her up and spinning her in a small circle, his arms and legs still jello from the climb. A couple cameras flashed and he set her down.

"Was this better than the cheesy in the cake thing?" He asked a smile on his face. Nat was inches from his face and she finally smiled Bruce's heart fluttered.

"I think I would've taken the cake." She said scrunching her nose. He laughed and locked lips with her again. Nothing else could be more perfect in that moment.
