My heart is beating. I couldn't concentrate on my work in school and so, I did what I always did, I hid away. In the quad, just watching people come and go. No one could see me, behind this tree. Everything was so calm and quiet, a gentle breeze brushing past every so often. My phone buzzes as hours fade.

On my way. Chris sent, I bite my lip in thought. What if I freak out...? What if this is something I don't want to see?

No. I can't freak out. Calm down. There is no turning back. I stand up and brush my legs off before I hear the door open. I can't help it, my hear jumps and I jump as well, I go behind the tree and wait till the footsteps stop. I peek out from the tree and freeze as I see Chris' face.

Chris is Chris? That thought even sounded dumb. Of course... all of this probably was just a joke to him... I start to retreat and hug myself staring at my phone. I feel tears raise from my chest before I hear another set of footsteps.

I raise my head as the set of footsteps are accompanied by two more sets. I peek again.

Chris. Justin. Jenny. Ryan. Ryan. The person who freaked out on me..? A confusion fell on me as they all looked at each other in utter shock. As if they were frozen in time, I felt dizzy as I took steps out. Slow and quiet. "So, who's Chris?" Words formulated from my mouth on their own. Without much thought put behind them.

They all look at me, Ryan looks horrified. As do Jenny and Justin. But Ryan looks like I'm pointing a gun at him.

There is a slight silence before I hear a snicker. My head turns to Chris as he starts to belt out a full laughter. I look at him in slight confusion.

"This is too good!" Chris laughs hugging his stomach.

"Shut the fuck up." Justin snarls at Chris. Chris only shakes his head.

"Now, now." Chris starts putting up his finger. "As I see it, I am the only good one here. I'm willing to tell the truth. Are you? Or Ryan?" Chris laughs at the three. "Jenny already told me, figured I lay off. Or something. How did that plan work honey?"

I look over at Jenny who glances at me and looks down. "Narcissistic-"

"Aren't we all?" Chris asks and points to Justin. "Justin wouldn't even recognize Grace as his twin until recently because he didn't want to be seen with her. Jenny, it was your idea right? And Ryan. Oh, Ryan." Justin laughs. "It could have ended after one night. Before emotions got involved. Before it got complicated. But you carried on. Why is that?"

I blink. "Answer my question." I say calmly looking at Justin.

"Your question...was who was Chris right?" Chris asks, I nod over to him. "Well, darling." He opens his arms gesturing to himself and the three others. "We all are Chris." I look at each of their faces studying them. They refuse to answer my gaze.

"Jenny came up with the plan. Figure you out. Laugh at all the shitty things you cried about. It was a prank, a joke. Justin only went along with it. He's been a little flip flop as I understand it. Poor Justin. And Ryan continued to be Chris, continued to know more about you, study you, bond with you, fuck I'm sure he even won your heart. That is until I got a word of this story... and so, I stole his phone," he pauses and takes a phone out of his pocket holding it up before tossing it to Ryan. Who lets it fall on the ground in front of him. "And planned this whole thing out. See, if I told you, you wouldn't believe me. You had to see this with your own eyes, Grace. We are all Chris. Here we are." Chris laughs and shakes his head looking at the three others. "I realize, I didn't win you...." He walks over to Ryan and pushes him to me. Ryan stumbles forward his face pale.  "But now, he has no chance either. I don't go down without a fight." Chris turns and walks out waving to us. "I did my job. I suppose you guys need some private time."
