Leilani
My head turned around so fast it felt as if I got whiplash. Alexei stood at the entrance of my door with a small smile on his face. I quickly turned off my shower as Alexei turned around so I could quickly throw on a t-shirt and some shorts.
I cleared my throat before speaking, "What do you want?" I spat out with so much venom, because what did he want with that stupid smile on his face— there isn't anything to smile about.
Alexei didn't flinch at my tone. He didn't even look all that bothered . "I just came to check on you-."
I scoffed and let out a bitter laugh," Check on me? Now?!" Alexei stepped closer into my room but he wasn't intimidated.
"What about when your fucking master Mrs.Kuznetsov slapped the shit out of me? Did you check if I was ok then? Or even when I was elbow deep in horse shit!?" Now I was face to face with Alexei, I'm sure he could feel the air coming out of my flared nostrils.
"Leilani it's not like that." Alexei tried to defend himself.
"Then what is it like Alexei!? What is it?" I stepped even closer to him. I could smell his cologne coming off in waves.
Alexei was stoic—lips tightly closed together. And If my eyes were deceiving me he looked lost for words for once. "What is it Alexei?!" I repeated myself while shoving his chest.
Alexei still just stood there. "What is it?!" I yelled pushing him again, "Because from where I'm standing when she says smile you smile, when she wants a moment of silence you're silent, when she says bark you bark! You're just her little dog nothing remotely human about you."
Alexei was silent so was I but my eyes spoke enough words for me. "It is insulting that you would ever speak to me like that Leilani."
This time Alexei was towering over me, he was silent all this time but oh was he deadly. "This is my job, you are my job! I don't owe you anything, sympathy, empathy, a titty to suck! I am not your mother and I am not here to baby you!"
His words cut deep, sharper than any blade could more hurtful than any slap. My chest rose with fury and burned with hatred.
"Your job?" I spat back, blinking the tears away. "That's all I am a job? Something to clock in out of and get a little paycheck every week? Which is weird because last time I checked jobs don't bleed, jobs don't cry, jobs do not feel like they're suffocating every minute they're trapped in this place!" My voice cracked at the end but I held my composer.
"I am not a job Alexei, I'm a human with real life feelings." I pointed at him blinking away the tears.
Alexei jaw was clenched, nostrils flared, eyebrows scrunched. "You think I don't know?" He spat out.
I didn't get a chance to speak before he continued "You don't think you're the only one under her leash, I know you're a human—"
I put my hand up cutting him off. I was tired of doing this, arguing this isn't me. "Get out of here Alexei."
"I wasn't don—"
"Get out of here Alexei!" I yelled and pointed my finger to emphasize my point.
"Fine, don't say I didn't ever try to sympathize with you , give you a titty to latch one since you miss mommy and dadd—" I cut him off with a slap. Sharp and clean, had to be harder than Mrs.Kuznetbitch.
