I phoned my dad, not knowing what to do with the woman lying on our actual blood couch. She was bleeding, falling in and out of consciousness and whispering something about being shot. He guided my way as I removed a large bullet, the size of the end of my thumb, from her lower stomach.
She was a werewolf.
Her wound immediately closed, leaving the crust of blood on her bare flat stomach. She was still weak and pale, turning a bit of a peachy colour. At least she was alive. I just saved someone's life.
I sat next to her as she slowly opened her eyes. Her blue eyes were a grey white now, scary to be honest. She was searching for something.
"My baby..." She said and if I wasn't confused before, I was now. I think she was hallucinating.
"What?" I asked and tried to make out of what she was whispering. Her frail body tried to sat up, I meekly pushed her down against the red couch. The fire was warm enough for her.
"No! I have to have her!" She screamed in my ears. It hurts a bit, but I quickly recovered.
"Where is she?" I asked and her eyes widened. "Where?" I asked and knew she wasn't hallucinating. She carried the smell of a new mother and her baby wasn't with her.
"In a cabin, north east, seven miles from the mountain top." She said and I nodded. I needed to go. Perhaps this was my mission in life, to help those who needs to be helped. Be a silent hero.
I had to get that little girl or she might die without her mother. I pulled a blanket over her and opened the door. She was asleep again or blacked out, I wasn't sure, but she was more relaxed to see me leave.
Another blizzard was blowing in over the mountains I was suppose to cross. I sucked in a breath and gathered strength. I changed into my white wolf and ran the North East direction Amy pointed me to.
How come she came here, the infamous Amy every one talked about , the same one Carsten neglected to tell me about. Here I was, saving her and a baby. She almost looked like me, just darker hair and skin. It was strange and annoying at the same time.
Seven miles went slow as I fought a battle against the blizzard on top of the mountain. I smelled the scent of the new born baby and the crying. How can she leave her baby to die and leave just like that?
