What if Miles told his perspective on being a new father, when Maya delivers their first child?

I can't believe this is happening!

I was at work when Maya called me and told me that she was going into labor and to meet her at the hospital.

I ran into the hospital and up to the front desk,

"My wife is here, she's having a baby. Maya Grace Hollingsworth." I said as I waited for the nurse to tell me were she is

"Okay, Mrs Hollingsworth is in room 214 on the second floor in the maternity wing, she currently hasn't been brought into the delivery room yet." The nurse said as the gave me my visiter pass

I got on the elevated and ran to Maya's room, I knocked on the door of the room labeled 'M. Hollingsworth'

"Maya?" I said as I walked in

Maya was laying on the bed, looking kind of relaxed,

"Hey Miles," she said before a contraction hit

"How are you doing Maya?" Maya's doctor Jill came into the room with her chart

"I'm doing pretty well, just ready to meet my little girl." Maya said, rubbing her belly

"Well, you will see her soon, but you are only 3 centimeters dilated so it will be a few more hours before we can even give you an epidural or get you into the delivery room." Jill said

"How long do you think that will be?" Maya asked before another contraction hit

"Well, how far apart are your contractions?" Jill asked, taking out her chart

"About every 15 minutes." Maya said

"It should only be a couple more hours then." Jill said before leaving

This is going to be a long day.

I told Maya that I was going for a little walk to stretch my legs and if she needed me or if anything happened, to call me.

I was walking around then I decided to sit in the maternity wards waiting room,

I sat next to a young man ow looked really scared,

"How ya holding in buddy?" I asked

"I'm scared, it's my first baby. My wife and I just got married." The kid said

"Ah, I've been married for 3 years and my wife and I are now just having a baby." I said

"Wow, you don't seem scared at all!" The kid said

"I am but I'm just more excited than scared." Just then I heard someone scream, I know that scream anywhere

"Uh oh, it's time." I said before running back towards Maya's room, but I ran into our family's coming in

"Guys go sit down, it's time!" I said before running into Maya's room

"Come on Maya, one more big push!" Jill said as Maya was crying

"I can't do this!" Maya said crying

"Yes you can Maya, you can do this!" I said as Maya gave one more big push

"It's a girl!" Doctor Jill said to her team as she held up the baby

"Mr Hollingsworth, would you like to cut the chord?" Jill said as she held the baby to me

I shook my head yes as a nurse handed me a pare of surgical scissors, I carefully cut the chord.

After Maya and I take care of our baby for a while, I decide to take her out to meet our family,

"I'm a daddy!" I say as I carry the baby out to the waiting room

"Oh my god! What's his name?" Frankie asked

"Her." I said

"It's a girl?" Maya's sister Katie asked

"What's her name?" Maya's mom asked

"Lauren Alison Hollingsworth." I said looking at my baby

As I hand the baby to my mom, everyone goes to look at her

I repeat to myself,

"I'm a daddy."
