I'm trying to decide a better title for this story, so if any of you guys out there have a better title please let me know!
It was just an ordinary day... Just an ordinary day...
6 years ago today, my life became the living hell. I was just like any other average seven-year old girl, playing on the beach while my Momy was working with another business associate. My dad was probably out fishing for his world famous restaurant that honestly I've never heard of, let alone seen. So basically, I was just sitting on the shore picking out pretty seashells to decorate my room with. Surprisingly such a boring day changed my comfy life.
Momy! Momy! Look what I found! , I yelled running towards my mom. She turns around with a big smile. "It's beautiful honey." , she tells me. Back then everyone told me I would look just like Momy, I would have long dark brown hair, have such beautiful tanned skin and be pretty tall. But mostly be strikingly beautiful. There was only one difference between us, my eyes were a brilliant blue and hers were a soft greenish color. Most people found it odd because neither of my parents had blue eyes. My dad had brown eyes, people didn't really understand it. Momy told me I was special for having a different eye color then anyone in our family. You see, if you haven't noticed, I'm an only child. My mom was adopted when she was younger so no one really knew about her parents and in my dads family everyone had brown eyes. I was supposed be getting a new brother or sister pretty soon, but I never ever got to see them...
I looked behind my mom and saw the business guy. He wore a black suit with a fiery red tie. He had dirty blonde surfer hair but it was short and nice looking. He had brilliant blue eyes just like me, which went perfectly with his fair white skin. When he notice me starring at him, he gave me such a warm smile just like mom always did.
"Hey there short stack!" , the business guy said with a grin. Momy turned and said, "My apologizes Apollo! This is ou-,I mean, my daughter Alexandria. Say hi Alex.", Momy said rather nervously. "H-hi Mr. Apollo." , I stammered. I don't know if it was just my imagination or not, but I think my mom almost said our daughter... Apollo'a grin turned into a big smile. "Well Taylor I had no idea you had a little girl! Is she just as artistic as you are?" Apollo seemed cool and collective as if he didn't notice what Momy almost said. It didn't seem to phase him at all! "I'm sorry but I have another meeting soon so I'm afraid I can't stay hear much longer." My mother pushed me away and told me to go back to the beach, apparently my Dad was supposed to be pulling into shore soon. As I walked backed I beach I took a dive and looked back toward where my mother was with Mr. Apollo. My mom appeared to be arguing with Apollo. She was mad, almost at the the point of agitation, which is when she would completely lash out on him. But Apollo kept his cool, he stayed calm but he was definetly fighting back.
I couldn't bare to watch them argue any longer, so I ran back to the beach. Waiting for my dad to come.
I sat there waiting, waiting for his boat to come. The sun was going down, soon my mother would call me back and we'd have to go back home without him. Darkness was clouding the sky, but he still wasn't there. It was too late. My mom had already called me back and we were on our way back to the house from Long Island. I sat in the front seat of the car just watching everything go by. Tree. Tree. Tree. Oh wait whats that? Is that a building? Nope, just a tree... It took for what seemed like ages until we finally got home. I was asleep by then, all I know was that mom carried me up stairs and I slept with my scruffy plush bakugan.
CRACK! POP! BANG! I woke in the middle of night to those sounds, sounds I'll never forget. I turned my head toward the door across my room. That's where my parents slept, that's where the sounds came from. I climbed out of bed and approached the door. I was about to turn the knob, when the door swung open. My mother stood there, her eyes full of fear and panic. "Honey you have to change right now!", she said pushing me toward my dresser. She continue to urge me to change faster. I continued to ask what was going on but she refused to answer. Once I was ready, we scurried down stairs, my mother took the small boat and road it across the living room to the kitchen (huge water accident that happened a while back that she never did fix, so she built small paddle boats to get cross the living room), she came out with the tornado/hurricane/blizzard packs that were filled with clothes, food and water to last months. She took my hand and guided me outside, an we plunged into the darkness. Leaving our once safe home behind forever...
