Eren's gaze held you firmly in place, an intensity that demanded your attention. As you met his eyes, it felt like he was dissecting your every thought and emotion. The silence hung heavily in the air as he tilted your chin up, his fingers pressing just enough to scrutinise you more closely.

What are you searching for? The question echoed in your mind as his penetrating stare searched for answers buried deep within you.

"Y/N, why did you take?" Eren finally broke the silence, his voice cutting through the tension. Your eyes widened, a flicker of panic coursing through you.

Shit.

Slowly, your arms fell from around his neck, and you noted the deep crease in his brow, a clear sign of his frustration. Eren had always been the one to ease your fears, but at this moment, a wave of timidity washed over you as you sensed his anger bubbling just beneath the surface.

"Nothing," you lied, your voice steadying as you batted your eyelashes, attempting to project an air of innocence and normalcy, desperate to convince him that everything was fine.

How had he figured it out? Sasha hadn't even hinted at anything being off, and you had thought you'd managed to keep things under control. You questioned how you could have possibly miscalculated your own appearance.

"Y/N." His voice turned softer but held a firmness that made your skin prick with anxiety. He intensified his gaze, tilting your chin further to maintain unbroken eye contact. You instinctively diverted your attention to the wall beside you, your heart racing in response to the shift in his tone and demeanour.

"What did you take?" he repeated, his voice now a firm demand. "Don't lie to me."

A wave of breathlessness washed over you, constricting your chest. Why did you always find yourself lying to him? Each lie only stoked the fire of his anger, and you were keenly aware that he had every right to seek honesty from you. You had promised to be there for him through his addiction, yet here you were, battling your own demons, a hypocrisy that felt like a weight dragging you down.

You had already crossed a line by keeping things from him. You couldn't face that hurt look in his eyes again, that look of betrayal that cut deeper than any blade.

"A blue pill... I don't know what it was," you finally admitted, the confession slipping from your lips barely above a whisper, as if saying it too loudly might make it all too real. But he had heard you, every quiet syllable cutting through the silence between you.

His expression hardened, eyebrows knitting together as he reached for the lock behind him, his stance growing more rigid. "Did Sasha give that to you?" he asked, his voice steady but edged with a simmering concern.
