May's lived by herself in an abandoned foster care building for five years now after her mom was taken away be mysterious men, and she doesn't know how much longer she can last pretending that she lives at home. Dragged to a costume party by her friend Ally, she never expected to be given a book by a crazed man on her way home.She also never expected that she would be brought into the book by a group of hunters that come out of it once it is opened telling her she is needed.
