The class was over before you know it, and I watched Avery slowly rise from her seat, still reading.
"Are you sure you can read and walk?" I asked her. She nodded, concentrated in the book. I shrugged, and she walked out. I followed. My locker was across the hall from hers, but after she left hers, I walked over and slipped my number in it.
'Hopefully you can text me sometime. -Harry xx' I wrote my number below it. I walked to my next class, hopeful for that text.

"Dinner will be ready in a few minutes." I heard my mom say as I walked through the door. I nodded, going to my room and sitting on my bed. I had seen Avery in the hallways, and I tried to say hello by waving and smiling. She would get all nervous and walk away quickly. Did she not like me? I wasn't used to being rejected, and when I was, I didn't take it very well. I was gonna try to win her. My phone vibrated, and I pulled it out of my pocket quickly. But it wasn't a text from her.
From Amanda:
You looked sexy Harry.
I rolled my eyes, deleting the message and laying down. I didn't like Amanda at all anymore, especially after what I saw today. She was not the girl I fell for last year. In the beginning, she was quiet and innocent. I was popular. Once I introduced her to everyone, she became popular. And it all went downhill from there. I didn't want anything to do with her. She was just desperate for one thing, and we all knew what. My phone vibrated again, and I was contemplating whether to check it or not. But I did.
From: Unknown Number
Hey. It's Avery.
I smiled wide. Finally. I was hoping she would text me. Was this a sign that she didn't...hate me? I hoped she didn't.
To: Avery (:
I'm glad you decided to text me. (;
From: Avery (:
Hah. Thanks for being nice today. And calling me.. pretty.
I would be really surprised if no one called her pretty all the time. Were they blind? She was breathtaking.
To: Avery (:
It was the truth love.
I put my phone down, smiling at the ceiling. What if she liked me? I hope she did, because from what I knew, I liked her alot.
I heard my mom calling me from the kitchen, and I honestly wasn't hungry at all.
"I think I'll eat later Mum!" I yelled. She thought it was fine, so I decided to listen to a little more music.
It was a Friday night, and I had absolutely nothing to do. Avery just met me, so I don't think she'll wanna go anywhere. She never even texted me back. I wasn't going to stress it though, I had just remembered one of my friends was having a 'get- together' and I thought I would just go to that.
I got up from my bed, looking in my closet for something to wear. I picked out some skinny jeans, a Killers t-shirt, and some Vans. The smell of the food was getting to me, and I realized I was hungry after all. Oh well. I took a quick shower, got dressed, and walked out to the door.
"Where do you think you're going?" my mum asked.
"Um, Niall invited me over. Just us two. I might spend the night." I answered, quite nervous.
"Is his mum gonna be there?" she asked again, her eyebrow raised.
"Yes mum. I'll text you later." I replied, grabbing my car keys and running out the door.
To: Niall (The Craic)
On my way. How many people are there?
From: Niall (The Craic)
Lots. Mostly girls. Most of them brought friends.
Well then. Usually, I would get excited. But for some reason, not tonight. Unless Avery was going too, but I bet she wasn't. I drove over there, blaring music. When I got there, I spent a good 10 minutes trying to find a parking spot. I knew what Niall's mum's car looked like, and it was nowhere in sight. Oh god Niall. Not what I think it is.
You see, I used to get so excited over these kinds of parties. But like I explained earlier, I really just wanted to see Avery. She was all I could think about. I walked inside, and music was blaring. The smell of achohol and cigarette smoke was almost unbearable. Niall run up to me, a beer in his hand. The usual.
"HEY YOU CAME!" he yelled, turning to everyone, "HEY GUYS LOOK WHO'S HERE! HARRY, THE LIFE OF THE PARTY!" I laughed and waved. He handed me a beer, running away.
I took a sip, walking around and saying hello to some people. I saw some guy kissing some girl on the couch, and when they pulled away she whispered something and walked to the kitchen. He turned to the girl on the opposite side and starting kissing her while the other one was gone. What an ass. I remember when that was me.
I walked outside, the bass bumping. There was a dim light, but there was still a lot of people outside also. Then I saw her. Avery. She was reading a book, sitting on the grass nearby. She wore high-waisted shorts, and a tanktop. Her hair was down though, and she was wearing Vans as well.
"Avery. Hey. I didn't expect to see you here." I said, sitting next to her. She shut her book, blushing a bright red.
"O-Oh hi Harry. I didn't expect to see you either. Why aren't you inside?" She asked.
"Why aren't you?" I replied, and smirked. She smiled.
"I can't. There's too many people, and I don't wanna talk...or kiss...anyone." she answered.
"Why not? Talking and making friends is good." I told her.
"I just can't." she opened her book again, reading. I sighed, standing up. I guess she wanted to be alone, and that gave me a hint that she didn't like me.
"Sorry for bothering you." I whispered, going inside.
