Chapter 26

A/N: Dedicated to @whydoyouwantttoknow. Happy Welshie? Hopefully. Sorry this isn't my best. I think it's kind of a crap chapter but oh well. But at least it's something. Right? Right. Danny's POV

Why? Why Jessie? Why me? Why now? Why would Irma and Chris do this to the girl I love? Did they want money? Why not ask for it then instead of just hurting Jessie? This is all that ran through my mind as I rushed Jessie to the hospital. I was just praying that she could stay strong and make it after all they did to her. 

Soon enough we arrive at the Emergency Room and I park and rush Jessie in. Nurses rush over to her and ask what happened. After I explained, they rushed her into a room and lead me to another room to check my lungs out after all the smoke I inhaled in trying to rescue Jessie. After they check me out and tell me that I'm fine just to take it easy they lead me into a waiting room saying that I can't see Jessie yet.

I wonder what they're doing to her. Hopefully she's not in to much pain because that would be unbearable for me. Thinking about her being injured and how I found her is  hard enough but thinking about her not making it is even worse.

 Soon enough  a doctor pulled me into a little office to talk to him about Jessie.

“Hi Danny, I’m Doctor O’Callahan. I know what happened to Jessie but I pulled you in  her to see if you had an evidence.”

“Why? Why would I need evidenc- OH MY GOD! YOU THINK I BEAT HER! YOU SICK SON OF A BITCH!”

“DANNY!  Calm down! I didn’t mean to offend you but we need evidence for the police report.” 

“O-ok. Yeah I have evidence. They sent me videos everyday of them beating her, even one today.”

“Good that’s all I needed to know. Now would you like to know what type of injuries Jessie has?”

“I won’t like it but I need to know.”

“Ok well  she obviously has bruising and cuts. She bruised 4 ribs, broke 1 rib, had some internal bleeding in the stomach region from the beating, and some other trauma.”

“I-is she going to be all right?”

 “Yes she should be. It’ll just take a little while for her to recover. Do you have a number for her parents? We couldn’t reach them.”

“Yeah I do. She used my phone to call them a few times.” 

“Ok well can you make them aware of what has happened?”

“Yes Doctor.” (Cliché I know but oh well!)

“Ok I’ll leave you to it.”

With that said he left me in the office to make the call. Shit this is going to be awkward as f**k! I don’t want to tell them! Why couldn’t the doctor just get the number from my phone and do it? Why do I have to do it? I haven’t even meet them! Their going to think I treat their daughter like shit or something. Gosh this is gonna suck major balls! Well I guess I should get it over with.

*Ring Ring*

“Hello?”

Shit! The voice sounded feminine that meant it was Rose which is even worse. I was atleast hopeing for Steven. Rose is going to be so upset when I tell her.

“Hi…um this is Danny O’Donoghue. I was just callin-“

“Somethings happened to Jess? Hasn’t it?”

“Y-yes ma’am.”

“W-what’s happened to her?” I heard a few sniffles as if she’s trying to keep it together.

“Jess was um….kidnapped…..then beaten each um day until I found her. They only gave me a week to find her-“

“Your sa-saying my baby girl is dead?”

“NO! GOD NO! I found her today which was the last day a few hours before the deadline. I called to tell you she’s in the hospital.”

“Why didn’t you get the police involved?”

“I-I couldn’t or they would beat her worse. The-they sent me video every day showing the guy beating her worse by the day.”

“O-oh god! What hospital? Is she ok? I’m going to get Steven to come home early so we can be there.”

“Calm down. I know this is a lot to take in and I feel like it’s all my fau-“

“Don’t you dare say it’s your fault! I may not like you right now because of what you did to Jessie but this is nobody but the culprits fault.”

 "Ok where is she hospitalized?"

I tell her which hospital Jessie is being held in and go back to either waiting for Jessie to wake up or her parents to get here.

Suddenly two bodies burst through the door. I looked over to see two people who resembled Jessie. One male and one female. I'm going to assume that they are Rose and Steven.

"Danny, what happened?" The man asked.

I looked over to the women still assuming it was Rose and she mouthed to me "I didn't tell him". Great just great. I look over to Jessie's horror stricken dad (?) and start relaying everything I know of the story.

Once I'm Done Steven speaks up "So you didn't do this?" I look at him in horror.

"NO! I WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANYONE! WHAT KIND OF PERSON DO YOU THINK I AM?!?!" I bellow. 

I realize as he said that, that he really was Steven. So that must be Rose. I'm not slow! I'm just still in shock of what has happened.

"Danny, calm down! He didn't mean it! He's just worried about Jessie!" - Rose

"Sorry Steven for overreacting." 

"It's ok my boy. It just shows us how much you love her." - Steven

Suddenly I heard a slow wheezing/ coughing sound coming from Jessie's direction. 

I LOOK OVER TO SEE JESSIE AWAKE! I think I'm the first to notice. I don't want to be the first one to rush over because I think her parents deserve some time with her. While I'm contemplating this I look over to Jessie's parents and see them realize that she's awake. I start to slip out of the room when I hear something I didn't expect.

"Where's Danny?" Jessie croaks.

"He's right over-. Where'd he go?" Starts Rose.

" Look babe he's right by the door. Danny where are you going?" - Steven

" I was going to give you guys some time alone. Family time, y'know?"

" Don't be silly. Jess wants to see you too." - Rose

" Yeah Dan, I want to see you." 

Slowly I take a chair and walk over to Jessie's bed.

"Hey babe. How ya feeling?"

"Like shit."

" I would imagine so."

"Look Danny, we need to talk."

This worries me. I see Jessie give her parents a look like you know the 'get the hell out I need some privacy' look. Slowly her parents back out. Oh god! What could this be....

"Danny, look.........."
