Ok, so maybe Tony said no. That word has not once stopped me before, and I wasn't about to end that streak today.

So, I zipped up my suit and strapped my guns to my thigh holsters, turning proudly in the mirror. With one last nod, I made my way onto the Helicarrier where Tony, a group of agent's, Natasha and I were going to be dropped off for our mission.

I made a clear effort to stay away from Tony. I knew he'd be pissed that I was coming, but technically, they were Fury's orders; and Fury didn't give two shits if my boyfriend forbade it or not.

I had sat myself in a lobby with Natasha, talking quietly as we descended toward our location. I noticed Fury had walked in with Maria, but neither of them had said a word to us.While they talked, and I eavesdropped, I overheard that Tony was by himself, so I forgot about worrying for the time being.

Thankfully, when the time to be dropped off at our site, Tony was still no where to be see.

"Probably running late." I muttered to Natasha, a small smirk on my lips.

She laughed and rolled her eyes, crouching behind a large containment box. I held my gun up, peeking behind the box. I didn't notice any HYDRA Agents, so I flicked my gun forward; a silent gesture that it was safe to move ahead.

Natasha stood slowly and began advancing inside the building. She quietly pressed herself, and me, against the wall, hushing me. Natasha nodded her head to the side, signalling there were Agents ahead. I grabbed a bead from my belt, that was secretly just a small smoke grenade, and rolled it ahead. In a few seconds, it exploded, the only outcome being a large cloud of smoke that would push the Agents back. The Agents coughed and yelled orders in Russian.

Natasha and I barrel-rolled from our hiding spot, shooting at the enemy. We easily took them down, running down the hall together.

"Five Agents down, advancing down sector twelve." Natasha spoke into her wrist speaker, using her other hand to shoot out a lock. I kicked down the door, widening my eyes as three men shot at us.

Natasha was too distracted while she spoke into her speaker, and in that split second, I took it upon myself to push her out of the way. I got shot in my leg, groaning in agony, but it was nothing I hadn't experienced before. Natasha looked at me worriedly, kneeling down.

"Go, go!" I yelled, pushing her along as I stumbled to my feet. Luckily, the bullet went straight through, so I managed to stumble after Natasha, feebly shooting at Agents.

Finally, Tony decided to show up, his metal feel clanking on the ground. He took down all of the Agents with ease, turning around as I hobbled along. The mask flew up, an expression of mixed anger and worry written across his features.

"I'm fine." I breathed, trying to stand to my full height. I would have succeeded, if it weren't for the bullet that shot through my lower abdomen. I gasped, falling forward. Some how, I still managed to hold myself up on one arm, my head hanging above Tony's feet.

Angrily, Tony shot at the rest of the Agent's, scooping me up after he had finished.

"Agent Y/L/N is wounded, lower abdomen and left calf." He spoke monotonously, gripping me protectively.

I held to his shoulders, not bothering to look in his eyes. I knew I was in trouble, but I also knew it was out of love.

Tony stayed quiet, his eyes never meeting mine. I wanted to cry; the cold shoulder he was giving me was freezing. Plus, my stomach and leg were throbbing in pain.

Sadly, I couldn't contain my pain any longer. A small, almost in-audible sob elicited from lips. Tony instantly looked down, tears of his own clouding his chocolate eyes.

Once we had reached safety, Tony set me down, kneeling in front of me.

"You're gonna be okay, baby doll, I promise. Hey, hey..." He whispered, gently turning my gaze toward his.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled, wiping my tears.

"No, I'm sorry. I should have known you were coming, I should have protected you. That's my job, Y/N, I need to protect you."

I whimpered, shaking my head. "You won't alwa- ow." I paused mid-sentence, smiling weakly. "You won't always be able to save me, Tony, and that's ok. I don't expect it. I'm gonna live, I'll be alright."

Tony smiled sadly, looking to his lap.

"Hey..." I cooed, taking his head in my hands. "I love you, Tony."

Finally, Tony looked up, gently kissing my lips. "I love you too." He whispered, hands traveling to my wound.

His fingers gently, almost barely traced along the bullet entry; lightly enough where he didn't hurt me.

"C'mon." I chuckled, holding my arms out. "You gotta kiss me better than that."

Tony chuckled, shaking his head in a sort of disbelief. He complied nonetheless, kissing me more passionately, and much more longer, than he had before. Still moving his lips against mine, I was back in his arms.

Tony only pulled away so we could fly back to the Helicarrier, though, much like him, as soon as he could, Tony was back to kissing me.
