Love & War *Theo Raeken*

Chapter 4

After the whole ordeal with the kanima, my kiss with Theo I decided to leave. I didn't let anyone know where I was going, I just left.

I don't know what is going on with my body but things are just making a turn for the worse. I finally make it to my destination. 

The nemeton. 

I collapse on to the ground as the tears start flowing. I stay laying on the ground for hours, once I go to move I wince in pain at the fact that my wound hasn't healed. I push myself up against the root of the nemeton before grabbing some soil and rubbing it into my thigh. I smile in relief as I begin to heal, I place a kiss on the nemeton before getting up and heading home.

The rest of night I was out. I slept with no trouble. The morning however was a different story. 

Once I awoke I took my usual shower before slipping into a floral dress. Since my hair is wavy and looks good to go, I go ahead and sit at my vanity. Once I take a seat my body starts shaking. I look in the mirror only to see that my eyes have gone black.

I blink trying to get rid of it but then a burning feeling starts spreading across my back. I scream as black blood starts rolling down my cheek. I grip the edge of the vanity as hard as I can trying to take the focus off my back.

I feel my claws come out as I continue to scream. My back arches as the burning sensation has filled my whole back. 

I hear a ping coming from my phone. The pain immediately stops, my back goes back to normal along with everything else. It is as if nothing even happened.

I grab my phone only to see a text from Theo.

Where did you disappear off to last night?

I don't bother to reply as I set my phone back on the vanity. I look at side mirror on the vanity to left, I can feel the fear radiating off my body. 

The reflection is of myself slowing turning to connect eyes with me, the black eyes and black blood rolling down the side of the face frightens me as moments ago that's what I looked like. 

As soon as we make eye contact it reaches out to grab me and I let out a sharp scream which pierces through the air and out into wherever it may go. 

I fall back onto the floor together letting out a growl. I'm not weak, who am I to be afraid of the unknown. 

Once I reach the ground there's nothing. No reflection, just nothing. 

I get up, walk over to my wardrobe to grab a black crop turtleneck with a pair of black skinny jeans and black combat boots. I change then I quickly slick my hair back into a ponytail. I quickly do my eyebrows, apply tinted moisturiser before leaving.

I lock my doors and make my way to Beacon Hills High.

"If 99.9% of our DNA sequence is the same as other humans, what could account for the missing 0.1% difference?" Mrs Finch asks but I can hardly concentrate with Theo's hand on my left thigh. "Theo?" 

I watch as Theo looks up and answers, "Um, nucleotides."

"That's right. Yes, Kira?" I look up at Kira.

"Can there be more than one species in the same DNA?"

"No, but there can be multiple sets of DNA in the same individual. We call that a chimera. Anyone know where that term comes from? Sydney?"

I decide to tune out after that, Theo squeezes my thigh and I look up at him. 

"You alright?" He mouths at me and I give him a brief nod. 

I look down at my blank piece of paper then back at Theo's whose writing everything down. I move his hand off my thigh and he looks at me confused. I lift his hand up to my lips before a pressing a gentle kiss to them.

Theo seems to be the only person who cares about me. Nobody ever asks me if I'm ok or if anythings wrong.

As Mrs Finch starts having a go at Scott, I press a small kiss on Theo's cheek which causes him to blush.

"Drop forms. All those now acutely aware that they do not belong in this class, you should fill one out." She hands two out before walking back to the front. "The rest will be on my desk."

I reach down to grab my ba-- actually I don't because I forgot to bring a bag. 

I leave hand in hand with Theo although I do notice Scott picking up a drop form. Theo takes us outside to the bleachers. We sit in silence for a bit, me being on his lap, until Theo decide to speak.

"Ok, what's going on?" 

"Nothing is going on." I still don't fully trust him but he's the only one there for me. Not even Scott checks up on me. 

"You're ignoring my texts and you left yesterday without a word." Instead of answering I turn so that I'm straddling him. Before he can say anything I press my lips to his and I let out all my emotions through this kiss. 

He slowly but surely starts kissing me back and I let my hands slip inside his shirt. He flips us over and can I just tell you. It hurt a lot, the back of my head smacked onto the metal and my leg got stuck on something. THE BLEACHERS ARE COLD!

I can assure you, we won't be running horizontally. 

Theo removes my hands and holds them above my head. He then takes one of his hands and slips it inside the top. I lets his hand wander inside until he finally rests it on my breast which he squeezes. It causes me to let out a moan then he pulls away. 

He smirks at me before walks away without so much of an explanation.

After he left me I decided to stay with Scott. Some kid has supposedly been hurt by a ten feet tall scorpion. Nothing out of the ordinary. 

Scott, Kira and I are finally heading to a place called Sinema where another Chimera is. We finally make it there to see the boy ontop of Liam. 

Damn, he has all these stingers popping out his arms.

"You're a little late!" At that Scott runs and does a 619 on the chimera while Kira takes her belt off which turns into a sword. Cool.

It finally kicks Scott away then Kira decides to go at it. 

"What is that thing?" I hear a familiar voice say. All that can be heard are sounds of grunts and the sword. 

After a good fight between them I decide to grab the boy by his neck and slam him to the ground. Finally! It gives up and his eyes go back to normal. I take a few steps so that I can dust myself off.

My eyes start flash and they only widen once they come in contact with the fox that Kira bears, it starts making it move towards the boy as Kira yells in Japanese. 

Scott shouts, "Kira!" As he grabs a hold of her. Kira and the fox look at me before turning back to Scott. 

I swear that fox is out to get me.

Scott asks if everyones ok ahead of asking Liam to give him a hand. I flinch as something comes down and kills the boy. 

I look up coming face to face with the Dread Doctors.

"Why did you do that?" I roll my eyes at this.

"His condition was terminal."

I decide to intervene. "What does that mean?" It doesn't reply so I decide to shout, "What does that mean?"

"Failure."
