I heard laughing, as I rolled my neck in a circle, still keeping my eyes closed. Sleeping in a car was one of the worst things. I finally opened my eyes and seen everyone, besides Carter, getting out of the car and running to the bathroom at a rest stop we were at.
"Did you have a nice nap?" Carter asked.
"Not really. My neck is killing me." I pulled the seat back, because I was sitting in the way, way back, and slid the van's door open. I stretched as I got out.
"Here, sit down," Carter said coming around to my side, "I used to get a sore neck from when I lived in my van for awhile," He looked down at me, "Don't ask. Anyway, I went to the school's nurse and she did this for me," He pulled my hair to one side, and gripped his hands on my shoulders, pressing his thumbs to the back of my neck. He started massaging my neck, and before I knew it, I was about to fall asleep again.
"Thanks," I said, "It feels a lot better. I'm going to catch up with the girls." Carter waved me off, as he went to sit at a nearby picnic table.
I walked over to the restroom area and found Mel standing next to a vending machine, and a very angry Megan kicking said vending machine, "C'mon you piece of shit!" She hit on its side.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"The machine ate about $3 already," Mel explained.
"This damn thing won't drop anything," She looked at me, "You arm looks skinny enough, reach up there and try and grab something, would you?"
"I can try," I walked over and knelt down by the machine. I pulled my sleeve up and reached my arm inside, twisting it to try and reach something.
"Oh, go for the Snickers!" Mel said.
"No, go for the potato chips," Megan yelled.
I felt around trying to pull something out, when all of a sudden everything started to spill down,"What the hell?" I said taking my arm out.
"You just hit the jackpot," Megan said, "Look one of everything," she bent down to grab all of the snacks that had fallen.
"Can I talk to you guys about something?" I asked both of the girls.
"Sure," Mel said, "but can we do it in the bathroom, I have to go really bad."
We made our way to the empty restroom and I perched myself up on the counter as Mel went into a stall. Megan opened up her makeup bag to touch herself up.
"You guys have to promise you won't say anything, ok?"
"You have our word." Megan said.
"I think I might have a crush on Carter," I admitted.
"What?!" Mel yelled as she swung the stall door open.
"You owe me 20 bucks," Megan laughed.
Mel opened her wallet and forked over a $20 bill.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"I bet Mel that you would start to like Carter at least a week in on this trip. Mel bet it would take the end of the trip."
"You guys bet on me?"
"Yes," Mel joined in, "We figured it was bound to happen. I mean you guys slept in the same bed in Vegas."
"Well, that's because Carter would have had to sleep on the floor he said."
"What?" Megan asked, "Peter's room at the hotel had 2 beds."
I squinted at her, making sure she wasn't joking around, "Then why would he tell me that?"
"Maybe he's got the hots for you too. So what did you guys do? Did you at least have a hardcore make out sesh?"
