"So it was his ex girlfriend?" Peter asked, stealing a bite from my toast.
"Yeah. And let me tell you, she was pretty. I mean like beautiful. I can't compete with that."
"Carter is stupid. He just lost a good thing."
I smiled, "And Megan is also stupid, for not liking you back. We're a catch right?"
"I think so," He laughed, "School starts in 15 minutes, we should go."
I scooted out of the booth, "Thanks for the talk."
"That's what I'm here for, babe," He swung his arm around me as we walked to school.
When I showed up at my locker, there was a cute boy leaning against it, but this time, I didn't want to see him. I turned around, hoping he didn't see me and try to talk to me. I don't know where I'm going to go when I graduate tomorrow, but I sure hope it's far from here. I thought this was never going to come, so I never really planned anything. I'll probably still have to live with Sara until I save up enough cash to leave. Which is ok, but I was hoping to get out of here when the grad ceremony was over and the caps hit the floor.
I decided to skip first period because Carter was in there, and it's the last day of school, so we aren't doing anything. I walked into the girls bathroom and found Mel in there.
"Hey," I waved.
"Oh," She turned around, "You scared me. Why aren't you in first?"
"Um," I didn't want to tell her about Carter, "I wasn't feeling good."
"Yeah me too. I got in a fight this morning with my dad. It was bad."
"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked, siting next to her on the bathroom counter.
"No, thank you," She smiled at me, "How are things with you?"
"Alright, I'm actually getting nervous for the ceremony tomorrow."
"Oh yeah, have you figured out what you are going to say in your speech?"
"No," I had a sinking feeling in my stomach, "I just hope I don't puke up there. I have a hard time making a presentation in class."
"You'll be fine," She shook my shoulder.
We stayed in the bathroom until the bell rang, letting us know it was time for our next class. Each period went by slow. All we did in each class was watch a movie or talk amongst ourselves. We all had to meet up with Mrs. Robbins for our last group session. To say it's going to be awkward is an understatement.
Peter and I met up and walked together. Both of us didn't want to go but we had to. The walk was quiet, like usual walks with Peter and I.
We reached Mrs. Robbins room and seen that we were the last of the group to arrive, "Please sit down," Mrs. Robbins motioned to the chairs, "I know that there is a lot of tension, but I think we need to talk about it. "
None of us said a word. Everyone just looked around at each other waiting for someone to say something.
"Alright, well does anyone want to say anything?"
"Um, well," Mel started, "My dad and I got in a fight last night again," She said to Mrs.Robbins.
"What about?"
"Well, I told him that I didn't if I wanted to go to college right after high school. Maybe take a year off and travel, or something. But he got mad and said that if I took a year off it would lead to 2 years and so on and I'd end up not going to college. He just makes me so mad trying to tell me what I should do and what I want."
