On the first day of school when Fern and Moon walked through the front gates it was a rush of mixed emotions. They started to get nervous.
"Am I supposed to feel happy or sad because all I'm feeling is confused," said Moon, as the reality of being at that massive school set in. The girls had just come from tutoring at the castle and now they're here, at her majesties high school for girls
They both looked at their timetables and realised there was something called Etiquette up first, with no clue what they had in store for them., .
"I think Etiquette is something along the lines of table manners," said Fern acting as though she was trying to be smart.
"Hey look, there's Molly. I wonder what she's up to?" said Fern excitedly as she was running over to talk to her older sister.
"Hey Molly, what do you have first?" Moon said, as she was looking around to see what was going on over at the far side of the oval.
"Oh, nothing much, just sport, it's not like it's cool or anything," said Molly.
" WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT COOL?" Moon said, in an angry tone, as if she was offended and she was, what was Molly talking about. How can she talk about sport that way?
Whoa, calm down, there is no need to get angry, said Fern to Moon by telepathy. Now if you're wondering how that could be possible. It's simple, the twins were born with it. Now where were we, ah that's right we were at the fight.
"I disagree with you about sport," Molly said in a calm voice. "Sport is very, hm what's that word, definitely NOT princessy."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT PRINCESSY!"Moon yelled at the top of her voice, as if she was offended.
Moon be quiet! Fern said, more fierce than ever, by telepathy.
"Molly, we'll see you later, goodbye," Fern said defiantly.
"Bye," said Moon, wanting Fern to hurry up, so they can get out of there and go see what the commotion was about.
"Yes, goodbye Fern, Moonlight," and with that Molly walked away.
The girls ran down to the oval to check out what the commotion was.
The bell rang DONG! DONG! DONG!
The twins had no time to check out what commotion was about so instead the twins practically ran to Etiquette lessons, and lined up in a very long line. The minute all the girls were standing in lovely straight lines Mrs Valley gave them a stern talking to.
"My name is Mrs Valley. I am here to teach you manners: how to curtsy, talk and sit, how to walk down stairs as if you are floating on thin air and how to eat without making any silly noises and a mess. You are to follow my rules which I am going to write on the board. Any questions? No? Good. Oh, yes Emily," Mrs Valley said.
"Mrs...Valley what dresses and tiaras do we wear?" Emily said, smiling sweetly.
"Yes I suppose you will need to get changed and get your hair done now. Hair up in a bun and the dresses are over there, put the tiaras on your head in front of your bun," Mrs Valley said and pointed to some plain white ballgowns on the racks, diamond and silver tiaras, and plain white slippers.
"Um, Mrs Valley, do I have to wear this dress? It's, it's soooo plain," said Moon sounding a little annoyed at Mrs Valley's choice in clothes.
"Yes, you do, and it says on this enrolment paper that you agreed to. Look there's your signature right there," said Mrs Valley with a sigh of satisfaction in her tone of voice while holding the enrolment form in her hands.
