𝑻he Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom was tense as the seventh years filed in, each student moving with the weight of suppressed frustration. The sour taste of the previous lesson still lingered, and Professor Umbridge's condescending presence only added to the atmosphere of resentment. Her overly sweet smile greeted them as they settled into their seats, the soft click of her heels echoing against the stone floor.
Olympia sat between Seraphina and Cassie again, her posture stiff as she watched Umbridge adjust the doilies on her desk. Fred and George strolled in last, their usual joviality subdued but still present in the mischievous glint in their eyes. They exchanged glances as they took their usual seats at the back with Lee, whispering to each other in tones too low for anyone else to hear.
"Good morning, children," Umbridge chirped, her hands clasped in front of her.
"Good morning, Professor Umbridge," the class replied, their lack of enthusiasm barely concealed.
"Today," she began, pacing slowly in front of her desk, "we will continue our study of Defensive Magical Theory. I trust you have all completed your assigned reading from Chapter Two?"
