Echo was a girl with no past, well its not that she didn't have a past it was more like she didn't care to think about it. she lived in a small apartment with her reptile and her 6 year old daughter who she loved and relied on for most of her life, she loved them, they were the only anchor she had in her life. Echo craved for a constant thing all in which no one but her family could seem to give to her. They made her happy, they were the reason she chose to live in the small town, in a small apartment.
She walks over to the large tank that took up most of her living room and slides the door open letting out her favorite ball python who's name was Hydra, after the 9 headed monster in greek mythology. The name suited her, she was a beautiful white serpent with sea foam green spots and marks all over her body along with scars that traces around her indicating  how poorly treated she was by her last owner. She slithers from her tank onto Echo's arms and into her oversized black hoodie curling around Echo's petite body and stealing her body heat. She pulls on her knee high steel toe combat boots and easily slide her touch screen phone as well as her over sized pocket knife into her large hoodie pocket Before before waving to her daughter Suzuko. Suzuko jumps from the couch and throws on her sneakers following after Echo with a large smile on her face, her long blue hair bounced as she grins up at Echo emerald eyes shining.
"Did you get your letter?" Her voice was calm as she studied her daughter with a small smile, Suzuko jumps up in realization and races to the kitchen to get her letter. She gets back and shows her mother with a large toothy grin plastered on her face. Petting her daughters head she opens the door scanning the area.
Echo knew her town was not the safest but it was a hell of a lost safer than her last town where she grew up surrounded by gangs and where almost getting shot happened daily.
She didn't mind that town, in fact she welcomed danger, she might have been a simple girl with simple ambitions but danger was also apart of her life just as much as simplicity was. Danger was something she was used to, peace on the other hand was not. Peace was what this new town gave her, besides the protesters about the new species they annoyed her but they didn't threaten her way of life. If they tried, well lets just say that they would not be able to reproduce anymore.
She opens the door locking her apartment in a practiced motion that she's done many times before pocketing her keys and heading out for her daily walk. Echo loved the outdoors just as much as Hydra and Suzuko did, they enjoyed their daily walks where they would bond and enjoy the scenery.
Oddly enough there were most protesters then normal, it irked her. Echo didn't hate the new species, in fact she respected them. Men and Women who got the shit end of the stick finally get freedom, she felt they deserved it and the fact that these idiot protesters thought that they knew better made her want to rip them a new one. She would have, if she didn't fear those idiots would aim their anger at her family.
They were the only ones she cared about.
They walked up to the gates slowly, Echo was a dangerous person and she knew that but the others didn't. She sucked on her pierced lip carefully thinking on how to get to the front without causing a fight, It wasn't herself she was worried about; she was concerned about Suzuko. Echo and hydra could take care of themselves and didn't mind getting roughed up while Suzuko had a major fear of fighting, if anyone raised their voice a her she would flinch back and cower into whoever was close. She had a valid reason for it, Suzuko and Echo both had a checkered past, they didn't acknowledge or ask about each other. After all they both understood the pain of being left. Echo wasn't Suzuko's real mother but she was the only one she needed.
Normally Echo hated entering crowds she could avoid at any point but Suzuko wanted to give the New species the letter she wrote, she wanted more then anything to talk to a new species and was hoping they would take her up on her offer and be her pen pal. What Echo didn't know about this was that Suzuko was planning to set her mother up with a new species.
The drunk and angry people turned to look at Echo and Suzuko with a smirk, they were expecting them to be Anti- New species just like them. With that in mind they parted like the red sea letting the small unnaturally blue haired bright eyed child and her petite pierced up, tattoo'd, and rainbow colored hair mother through. The smirking crowd as expecting a show, to their disappointment the young girl holds out her arm through the iron bars of the gate waving her letter in the air with a grin on her face.
"Animal loving whore!" One of the men yells, his voice was slurred he had obviously been drinking. Echo, not wanting to give the man the satisfaction of an argument turns to look at him before sweeping herself into a low bow. That stirred the anger in the drunk man who slurred curses at her.
Echo turns back to her daughter to see a new species in armor take the letter carefully, feeling it up to make sure theres nothing dangerous about it. Suzuko turns to her mother with a bright smile, Echo smiles back at her happy that her daughter was happy.
