"Do you know your mother's number?" the man who Suzuko found out later on's name was Snow after his beautiful white hair. Suzuko stared at him for a few more moments before nodding and taking the phone that he was holding out for her and typing in Echo's number and handing it back. The nice doctor Trisha looks over her injuries and informed her that she was just going to have a few bruises which she was thankful for.
Snow holds his phone to his ear waiting for Echo to pick up, once she does he relays the story back to her with her promising to come and pick her up soon and throwing a thank you towards snow for saving Suzuko.
"How do you feel?" Snows voice was calm as he looks over the small girl, having taken off his mask earlier she could see the worry on his face. Suzuko didn't know much about the new species besides what Echo told her about them getting the 'shit end of the stick' most of their lives and even though Suzuko didn't know exactly what that meant she was sure it didn't mean anything good.
"Im ok" She smiles to him grabbing his large hand, she was fascinated by the size difference of them, she might have only been 6 but he was a giant man. For some reason she didn't feel scared of him, she couldn't; to her he was just a normal person. A normal person who treated her better then most people did, with the exception of her mother of course.
They waited for about 20 minutes until Echo was at the gate, rage was rolling off of her in waves. She was not angry because of the new species her anger was directed towards the drunk crowd, the guard lets her in easily shutting the gate quickly behind her and leading her to her daughter.
"Mommy!" Suzuko's voice was cheery as she launches herself into Echo's arms, Echo looks over her daughter studying the bruises on her face carefully. She understood that the new species couldn't do anything in the beginning after all Hydra was ready to kill and they didn't want to start another problem. They had a lot on their hands already.
"You want to explain to me how you ended up at the gate in the first place?" Echo watches her daughter slide off of her and fidget wringing her hands together not wanting to look Echo in the eyes. Snow watches with with a small smile on his face and amusement dancing in his eyes, its not every day he see's such a small female with colorful hair scold her child.
"W-well, I checked the mailbox for my letter and it wasn't there so I thought-" She wrings her hands together more in a nervous gesture "I could just ask them in person instead of waiting..." Her emerald eyes glaze over as she doesn't dare to look Echo in the eyes.
"If you would have waited you would know that I had it. All the letters in our mailbox are fake just incase any Anti- New species who saw us yesterday were planning something. And no, I did not look at it" Echo smiles to her pulling out a letter and handing it to her teary daughter, who looked up at her with a large grin and ripped the letter out of her hands ready to read it. Echo turned to look at the man who helped out Suzuko, she held out her hand to shake his which were far bigger and calloused over. He took her hand and shook it firmly nodding to her in greeting.
"Thank you for taking care of my daughter, I'm in debt to you" Echo nods to him with a smile on her face. Snow studied her, she had piercings all over her face; two bellow her lip, one on her left eyebrow, one in her nose, and all up both of her ears. Snow was sure there were more unseen, her daughter though with un natural blue hair only had her ears pierced. That wasn't the only thing odd about the mother though, she had words and pictures tattoo'd on her body only a few were seen considering she was covered up with an oversized teal hoodie and leggings that covered almost all of her skin with only her collar bone and neck shown.
"It was my pleasure" Snow smiles to her, careful not to show too much of his canines after all he did not want to scare her, she matches his smile easily. Echo could tell right away that he was a kind man and that warmed her heart, she knew he was attractive but she couldn't let herself show that, after all she wasn't fit to be in a realationship.
"Thank you for replying to my daughters letter" She whispered to the man with a small smile, he looks at her with one eyebrow raise before shaking his head.
"I did not reply to her letter" He looks at her with a small frown, Snow had no idea who replied to the young girls letter but he knew it was not him.
"Oh, well who did? and how do you know about it?" Echo was confused, she assumed that since he saved Suzuko that he was the one who replied to her daughter.
"I thought Jericho did" Snows voice was calm as he watched the female carefully as her expression changed from to confused to realiztion, she waited for him to answer the other question before voicing another one "Jericho showed the other new species, we are very close people and all the kind words of your daughter encourage us. Thats why we show the others so they know people are actually rooting for us" Snow nods with a smile waiting for her next question.
"Was he the man that took the letter from her in the first place?" Echo's voice was soft as she stares up at the man sea foam eyes wide and curious.
