Peter walked out with Killian, always being a few steps in front of him so he could take in the sight of the ship. He quickly jumped off the ship and went over to where the ship's breaking point was. "Hm..I'm not sure we have all of the needed equipment to fix this. But we can try." The younger lad spoke up, his voice still as optimistic as usual.
"We better. I want to get off this stupid island as soon as possible." Hook muttered and walked over to the boy that was crouching down to get a better look at the break in the ship. He just wanted his ship fixed and ready so he could leave. He hated being stuck on the isolated island with the only person to talk to him, being the obnoxious boy in front of him.
"Yeah, yeah. We can start now though. One question, do you happen to have nails and a hammer or two?" Pan stood and turned to the man, a smile plastered on his face. He honestly did want to help the older male, he grew to like him. So that made things difficult. He liked Hook so he wanted the male around him more often, but he also didn't like the idea of forcing the man to stay on his island and cause him to be as unhappy as he was.
"I think so. I'll be right back." Killian walked off and into his ship. The raven-haired man grabbed a bag that was by his bunk, knowing he had a few tools there incase anything happened to his ship while he was out exploring. He searched through the bag to make sure he had what he needed, frowning when he only found one hammer. 'We'll just share.' He thought to himself and walked out of the ship, going back to the boy. The captain held up the small bag to the boy. "Got the nails and such, but I only have one hammer. Meaning we-.." He was cut off by the boy speaking up abruptly.
"Oh, that's fine. We'll share!" Peter flashed a grin at the taller male and took the bag from him, spilling the nails onto the sand in front of him. "If we can...board up the...hole enough..we can...stop leakage and you'll...be able to set sail!" Peter explain, stopping briefly between words to grab some of the broken wooden boards that had been broken and scattered. He sat in the sand, nailing the pieces together with the hammer to make bigger pieces.
Captain Hook rolled his eyes at the thought of having to work together with the boy, a part of him not minding. He didn't necessarily 'hate' the boy. He just disliked him, with a small passion. "Okay, sounds like a plan." The man nodded in agreement and grabbed boards, aligning them so he could nail them in place. He reached for the hammer at the same time as Pan, accidentally grabbing the boys fingers. He quickly let go of him and snapped his hand back. "I-I-...Quit hogging the hammer. I need to fix some parts as well." He spoke quickly, notably flustered from the small incident.
"Calm yourself, Captain. You can use it." Peter laughed lightly at the older male's reaction to the slight accident. He turned his back to the man as he worked on the boards, smiling to himself. He liked the small spark he felt when his skin came in contact with the other's. Maybe he was developing stronger feelings than he thought for the captain.
"Damn right I can use it. I don't need your permission, you little.." Killian trailed off his muttering and grabbed the hammer, nailing the boards together. He continued to nail pieces together, becoming quite proud of himself as he looked down at his handy work.
"I need the ha-..Woah. Nice work!" The light-haired boy grinned as he stared at the properly made collage of boards.
"Thanks! I know I-.." Hook tried to hide his excitement. "I mean..Thanks. I like it too." He said simply in a nonchalant manner. He grabbed his piece and stood up. "Come hold this up for me." The man instructed and put the board up, covering a little more than half of the hole.
Pan quickly stood and held up the wooden board while Hook grabbed the nails along with the hammer. "Hold these." Killian said and handed the boy the nails. Peter gave a soft nod and held out his hand, holding the nails for Hook. Quickly, Hook began to nail the board up to his ship while accidentally breaking a few of the nails in the process. He reached for more of the nails, accidentally brushing one of Peter's wide black bracelets back. "I'm sor-.." Killian eyes traveled down to the boy's wrist, seeing faded scars and reddish new ones. "Peter..what's that?" He asked curiously and worriedly.
"What are you talking ab-.." Peter followed Hook's gaze down to his wrist and quickly let go of the board, covering his scars up with the bracelet again. Luckily the board didn't fall and managed to stay up by the nails boarded up to the ship. "It's nothing.." The boy muttered and held his wrist up to his chest, holding it in his other hand.
"It not nothing. What are those? Why do you do it?" Killian asked and furrowed his brows in worry. "It's not right."
"It's nothing, Killian! Drop the subject." Peter spat and threw the nails to the floor, storming off into the jungle. Leaving behind a very worried and curious Killian.
"Peter, wait!" Hook called after him, wondering if he should let the boy cool off or go after him. After a few seconds, he decided he'd follow him. He walked off into the jungle after the boy, looking around for him.
A/N:
Well, that was part one of the idea. What did you all think of it? I really hope you enjoy it.
The two may or may not grow closer in the next chapter. *wiggles eyebrows*
