Suddenly the walls began to shake violently and the princess let out a scream and hid under the desk. Just as suddenly the shaking stopped and the warlock stood in place looking around with a smile on his face. "Well this is a pleasant surprise brother. What brings you to my tower in the woods? I hope you weren't drawn by house guest. That would be most disappointing. After all I haven't seen or heard of or from you since we parted ways 10 years ago when our powers awoken after the death of our parents on our 12th birthday."
With a flash of purple light there now stood two men before the princess. They were both identical in looks aside from that one was in well kept robes and the other looked as though he had just wandered in off the streets of the lower district. Only this new man gave off a warm light. One of compassion and understanding. He gave off an aura of trust and aid. The second man then spoke. "It's good to see you brother. It has been a long time but from where I stand not much has changed. You still think that your powers were given to you to use for whatever you want and to get your way. You also still think that you can torment people and attack them for not efficiently and effectively treating everyone fairly. You know as well as I brother that this is a flaw in everyone. We're all quick to judge and like to stick with what we know and stay within our comfort zones."
"And you still remain as naïve as ever brother. How is it that still choose to see the good in these people. It was the king of this land that got our parents killed after all brother, or have you forgotten that!?"
"I haven't forgotten brother... Have you forgotten that it was also our parents that helped to protect and save this kingdom during the war that they died in? Our parents gave their lives to to this kingdom so that we may see a peaceful time during at least part of our childhood. They believed in these people and trusted them."
"Trusted them enough to ask the king to take us in if anything were to happen to them. Believed in them enough to think that he actually would take two orphaned kids off the street in the event of their parent's death. You know as well as I how that turned out. We were stranded and left alone on the streets to fend for ourselves!!"
"That's not true and you know it brother!! We were asked by the Kings daughter to stay and play with her when our parents left, but you refused to sit by and be pampered while our parents were out fighting and our friends were in the rain. It was you who suggested that we leave in the first place and why the princess snuck out with us. Which was then the reason we parted ways. We were taking a short cut through the woods when we both knew. The light shone from both our eyes at the same time. That's how we knew. We saw the light in each other. You ran to go find our parents but I stayed back. I knew that the princess needed to go back home before the king thought she was gone too. We'd already lost our parents. I didn't want the king to lose his daughter because she followed us in to a war zone in the lower districts. So I took her back. Convinced her to go to bed then used my powers for the first time to make her forget that she had ever seen us and made it so that the king would too once he touched her. After that I came to find you but you were no where to be found..."
"You abandoned me brother. You chose to help some spoiled brat get back to her daddy! Something that I could never do again! And for that brother I can't ever forgive you!"
The warlock then pointed his finger toward the princess and exclaimed "Vim fulminis iudicant, conjuro te!" A burst of lightning shot forth from the tip of his finger and barreled straight toward the princess. The brother simply rose his hand and gripped it closed without even looking away from his brother. The Lightning bounced off an invisible wall and shot out the window and toward the sky. The warlock proclaimed "How'd you do that! We can't preform our magic on things unless it's in our line of sight! It's the only limit to our power!"
"I've learned many things about our powers that you haven't, brother. And I was hoping that you'd come to an understanding."
"SHUT UP!! Just because you're ten minutes older and mom and dad talked magic with you more doesn't mean that you're stronger! I've mastered our power and ascended far beyond you! Bestiarum inane surge. Forma in formam timoris. Consumet universa et exstirpare anima uxoris meae oblitus frater!" With that the wizard evaporated in a puff of smoke as a grin formed on his brother's face. Then his voice came from behind and said "I'm sorry it had to come to this brother. I know that to you this will be a fate worse than death... "Potestates sumus. Potestates et duobus. Parentum voluntatem oportet solvere. Cessisse viribus ternario et quaternario. Iam amplius relictus!"
Both the brothers eyes began to glow a brilliant shade of blue. Then faded instantly. And with it the tower, creatures, mist, and dead forest. The forest took on its rightful lively appearance and the three of them stood there alone in the clearing. The once warlock immediately took off running through the woods and once again his brother stayed behind. "Come on, I should get you home. Your father is worried and you've been a way from him long enough."
