Matt smiled as he adjusted his bed sheets once more, and placed the large comforter over them. He and Ty were back at Ty's house and he had just been introduced to his new room. He had been given some sheets, a comforter, and a big, fluffy white pillow.
The room itself was quite spacious, with a lot of open area in the center. His bed was in the corner farthest from the door, which was in a corner as well. In front of Matt's bed was a desk with drawers on both sides, and a place for his laptop and other technology on the top of it.
When Matt got there, a large, wooden bookcase was placed directly in front of the door on the opposite wall. It had four shelves, and two were already full of classics. Matt put his few science fiction books on the third shelf, and went back to his bed.
As Matt closed his eyes to rest, a knock came on the door. "Come in." Matt said blankly. The door opened to allow a bubbly Ty in. "Hey, I had a question, Matt." Ty said, walking over and sitting beside Matt.
"Yeah, and what would it be?" Matt asked, now interested. "Well, would you like to go camping this weekend?" Ty asked, smiling at Matt as he considered the offer.
"Well, I don't really see why not, but can we get me settled in first?" Matt asked, smiling back at the younger boy. "Yeah, of course! I'm going to go make some sandwiches, for dinner, so come down in a few minutes." Ty said as he walked away.
Matt sat on his bed, with his eyes closed in thought. He soon realized that he was quite hungry, so he began to go downstairs to the ground level floor.
When Matt got down to the bottom of the oak stairs, he was practically assaulted by the delectable aroma of the food. Ty had made sandwiches, but they weren't the tomato, lettuce, and ham he was expecting. Matt walked over to the table, and sat down.
He was handed two meatball subs, hand prepared by Ty himself. "Wow, Ty, these look awesome." Matt said, smiling.
"Thanks, Matt. How are you doing with your stuff?" Ty said, taking a bite out of his own sub. "Well, I've unpacked everything, but I seem to have lost my phone and it's charger. If you see it, I kind of need it." Matt said between bites.
"Alright." Ty replied to him as he finished his first sandwich. "So, I have some news. I have been invited to ride in the parade in a few days, and I'm going to be in the front! I can't wait!" Ty said, grinning ear to ear.
"That's great! I'm so happy for you!" Matt said as he finished his first sandwich as well. "I think, that in order to celebrate, we should do something. How about we go watch a movie!" Matt said, standing up and placing his remaining food in the fridge for later.
The two went into Ty's room, and they began browsing movies. They soon settled for a nice, animated kid's movie. It was about a girl who finds an alien and then raises it as a dog.
Matt settled in on a large plush couch, and Ty sat right beside him, almost snuggling up to him. The movie went by too fast. Matt wasn't ready to go to sleep. He was still awake.
When Matt looked over to ask Ty if he wanted to watch another, he just smiled, as Ty was asleep. Ty had wrapped his slender arms around one of Matt's and used his shoulder as a pillow.
Matt reached over for the DVD case, and noticed something he didn't even think about when they had put the movie in. The alien was yellow. Matt could see yellow once more.
