Reckoning

The alpha’s phone buzzed relentlessly as he drove through the quiet streets, Jungtae swaddled against his chest and the omega gripping Taegukk and Taeyeon close. The viral image of him cradling the cubs had spread faster than he could react, and the company had called an emergency meeting AGAIN. They insisted it had to happen somewhere private, far from cameras and prying eyes.

When he arrived, he found the band waiting in an empty warehouse—spacious, cold, and eerily silent. It had been chosen as neutral ground, supposedly to “protect the group’s image” while the company discussed the rumors. But the alpha recognized the opportunity immediately: isolated space, no interruptions, no fans. Here, he could protect his mate, shield the cubs, and finally confront the band without holding back. The omega shivered slightly, clutching the tiny bodies of their children, and the alpha squeezed his hand. Tonight, the reckoning would begin—and no one would leave unchanged.

The warehouse was empty, safe for the five bandmates and the couple who had carried the weight of months of abuse in silence. The alpha’s eyes glinted with a dangerous calm, wolf barely restrained beneath his skin. The omega’s hand tightened around Jungtae, Taegukk nestled against his shoulder, and Taeyeon gripping his leg. The cubs were quiet, sensing the storm to come.

“Enough,” the alpha’s voice cut through the tension like a blade. “I’ve had enough of your cruelty, your whispers, your fake smiles. I’m done pretending I don’t see the way you treat my mate.”

The five members shifted uncomfortably, eyes flicking to each other. Their confidence faltered under the alpha’s intense gaze.

“You all think I’m weak,” the omega spoke next, voice shaking but strong. “You think I’m a mistake. That my body, my life, my very existence is something to mock and despise. But here’s the truth…” His hands hovered protectively over the cubs. “…I gave birth prematurely three weeks ago. I nearly died bringing these three into the world. And you… you treated me like I was nothing.”

A tense silence followed. None of the bandmates dared speak.

“You called me weak,” the alpha growled. “You sneered at my mate when he was too exhausted to perform. You belittled the very life he brought into this world. Do you have any idea what that makes you? You're all monsters, hurting an innocent soul who did nothing but love you.”

“Strong families don’t forgive cruelty,” Jungkook added, voice low but unwavering. “We don’t need your approval. You’ll never touch our children. You’ll never touch me again.”

Jimin tried to speak, his voice trembling. “W-we didn’t mean—”

The alpha’s eyes snapped. “Shut up. Don’t. Don’t speak. There’s nothing to excuse. You have shown your true selves. You’re not my family, and you never will be. You disgust me.”

Jungkook knelt beside the cubs, cradling them close. “Every word of your hatred is a lesson they’ll never forget. But you… you won’t poison their hearts. You won’t ever see their faces again.”

A harsh wind seemed to pass through the warehouse as the alpha stepped forward, towering over the band members. He flared, invisible to the human eye but undeniable in the raw intensity of his presence.

“This ends now. You either accept that we are untouchable, or you are irrelevant.” His gaze swept over them, one by one. “I don’t care what the company thinks. I don’t care about your careers. From this moment on, you are nothing to us.”

They swallowed hard, fear flashing across their faces. One by one, they realized the truth: the power they had once wielded over Jungkook was gone forever.

Every last drop of love for them, gone. Just because of a misunderstanding they had no business being involved with.

The alpha turned to his mate, eyes softening. “Are you okay?” he whispered.

Jungkook nodded, brushing a lock of hair from the alpha’s forehead. “I’ve never been better,” he said, though exhaustion still weighed heavy in his bones. “Because you’re here. Because we’re together. And they’ll never break us.”

A faint growl escaped the alpha as he looked at the cubs, their tiny faces peaceful and unafraid. “Our family is stronger than anything they could ever throw at us. We’ll rise, and they’ll fall into nothing.”

The omega smiled, leaning against his mate, holding Taegukk and Taeyeon close. Jungtae whimpered softly, reaching for the warmth of his parents.

But outside the warehouse, in the cold, dim street, a shadow lingered—a single fan who had caught the viral image of the alpha in the nursery. A phone buzzed. The picture was being shared, reposted.

Vante’s phone vibrated with the same notification he had feared: a leak.

He swallowed hard, wolf instincts flaring. “They’ve found us,” he murmured. “And now… we fight not just for us, but for them.”

Jungkook clutched his hand, their bond stronger than ever. “Then let them come,” he said. “We are ready.”

The night outside was dark, the world unaware of the storm that was about to break. But inside, their family glowed, untouchable, unbroken, and fierce.

The alpha and omega have confronted the band and laid down the truth—but now the public knows something is happening.
