We rode a taxi as soon as we landed. I didn't know that taxi got fare meters on them which tell the passenger how much the fee was. That was cool. I was looking outside admiring the place that would be our new home for a few days or months. After a few minutes we landed at our destination. We got down and paid the fare. I looked at the house and it was really nice. It was a bit small, looks really ordinary. But still I love it!

"Finally!" Isabella said unlocking the main door. "We finally arrived! I'm so tired!"

I laughed at her and went inside. I put my bags down and explore our new house. There were only two bedrooms with private bathroom each in the second floor. There was a kitchen, dining room, living room with a fireplace and laundry room in the ground floor. There was also a patio and a small garden. Good thing it doesn't have any basement. That would be scary.

"Hey Sophie," Isabella called. "Since we are going to live together from now on. I think we should divide our chores."

"And what chores do you know?" I asked her.

She then grinned at me. "Oh yeah. I don't know any."

"Good thing I asked Susan (my personal assistant) to buy some educational DVDs and books for us," I said.

"They can actually buy that kind of books?"

I opened my bag and pulled out a box. "Here," I said handing it to her. She opened it and laughed.

"Funny isn't it," I laughed. "But we do really need it."

"How to do a proper laundry? How to hand wash the dishes?" she read the books' title. "How about the DVDs? Basic Cooking 101. Cooking for Dummies."

When I was still at the palace, I was already thinking what would happen when we get here. So I asked Susan about it. She told me that I should know some house chores. And good thing they sell those DVDs and books in the mall.

"Why don't we just exchange chores? I will cook tomorrow and you wash the dishes. And the next day, you will cook and I'll do the dishes, vice versa" I suggested. "For the laundry, we exchange too. Or we can just wash our own clothes."

"Okay. That's fine with me. I'm just thinking about chores and I'm already tired," she shrugged. Can you just believe it? Us doing laundry and washing the dishes? We are accustomed of being served at. And now, we are the one doing it by ourselves! This is so exciting. New experience for us."

"I couldn't agree more. New life and experience for us." I said. "By the way, do you think we should change our names?" I asked her.

"What for?" she asked. "People here don't know us."

"I know, but – "

"All we need to do was change our surname," she said. "I already arranged that. You will be Sophie Antoinette Taylor and I'm Isabella Jade Campbell. It was the names registered to our new school."

"At least you still included our second names. Let's unpack first."

Isabella got the bedroom on the left so I got the one on the right. The bedroom didn't have any curtains on the window yet. I'll buy that tomorrow. And there was no mirror. Actually, there was only bed and a drawer in here.

I started packing my stuffs then Isabella knocked on my door and went inside. "Can I sleep in here tonight?" she asked.

"Why?" I asked her.

"My bedroom is scary," she said. "It's so gloomy."

"You think my bedroom is not gloomy?" I asked her smiling.

She looked around and smiled. "At least we are together," she said. "Pretty please."

"Okay then," I said laughing. "Do you think we should paint our bedroom? I also wanted to buy a curtain."

"You are thinking that we are going to live here forever," she said sitting on the bed.

I looked at her sighing. "Since we are here, we should do something about it," I said. "How about painting our rooms?"

"Are you serious? Us paint this bedroom? Why don't we just hire someone to – "

"We are an ordinary person now right?" I interrupted her. "We should do what an ordinary person do. Come on. It will be so much fun. It will be the first for us."

"Yeah," she smiled. "I want my bedroom to be pink. And also the curtain. I also wanted to buy a big mirror. And a new drawer!"

"Woah! You are so excited," I laughed. I suddenly heard my stomach growl softly. "I'm a bit hungry. You think we should cook something"

"Hmmm . . . Hey! Let's try those deliveries they got," she said. "I always wanted to try that. They dial the number and presto – the food is delivered."

"Do you know the number?" I asked her.

"Uhm – no. We can check the internet if you want."

"Maybe next time. For now, let's cook our food."

Since this was our first time cooking. We consulted the DVD. Good thing there was already a LED TV and a DVD player.

"How come we already have all the appliances we needed?" I asked curiously.

"Well, I asked the real estate agent to purchase anything that we will need," she said. "Come on. Let's watch that Basic Cooking 101."

After watching, we looked at our refrigerator to see what we can cook. "There's chicken, eggs, meat, microwavable lasagne . . . Is this for real? Microwavable foods?" I said. "We can't cook anything complicated so how about the eggs? Or we can try that microwavable pasta."

"Let's try those eggs," she said. I got the eggs from the refrigerator and she got a bowl and fork.

"This egg is hard to crack!" she said angrily. "Why can't they just sell the white and yellow part alone?"

"That will be weird," I said. I was looking at the TV and following the instruction. We were cooking a scrambled egg. I know it was weird and it was already dinner time and a scrambled egg was for breakfast.

"I cracked it smoothly!" she yelled happily. "I did it! No shells!"

"Lucky you," I said excitedly. "How many eggs did you break correctly?"

"Only 3," Isabella boasted.

My first try was a disaster. Wow! I never thought cracking an egg was hard. The chef in the DVD did it without any trouble. For my second try I did it but it not perfect. There were still shells in the egg white. We cooked the eggs and it turned out okay. This was our first cooking.

"What do you want to do tomorrow?" I asked Isabella after we were done eating. "Do you want to go shopping?"

"I love to," she said excitedly. "I want to buy some new clothes. And you should too."

"Ooh! And it's our first time to buy our own clothes too!" I said excitedly. All of my clothes were sewn by my seamstress. "But right now, we should read how to wash the dishes,"

"No need to worry about washing the dishes by hand. There's a dishwasher." Isabella said proudly.

"Phew! That's good news! But how do we use it?" I asked finishing my juice.

"Let's read the manual. It's there somewhere," She said laughing. "I don't know how to use it too. Does your book have something about it?"

"Maybe. I'll check first." I got up, get the book and search for something about using the dishwasher. "Here it is!" After reading and trying to use the dishwasher, which was exciting, we stayed at the living room.

"I'm so excited," she said. "Our life starts tomorrow."
