Opal

This is so crazy.

It's probably about five in the morning when we finally get up and eat breakfast because of the stupid squirrel's and their excessive chit-chit-ing.  My mind is reeling with the fact that I woke up in Oliver's arms and we just stayed like that for a long time. My cheeks flush terribly with a deep red every time I think of his arms around my waist so I try to avoid the subject all together. I am sitting at the little picnic table at the campsite when I notice a little yellow post it with Elizabeth's familiar scrawl on it.

Connor and I are on a hike we'll be back sometime before I dunno you figure it out Opal you two have fun!

I laugh at Elizabeth's terrible writing skills. Then I think about what I am going to do all day before they come back. I turn to look at Oliver to tell him what happened, and when I look at him he is just staring at me with dazed and unfocused eyes, quite like a five year old staring at his favorite candy shop. My cheeks do the wretched thing with the blush again and I look away quickly.

"Elizabeth and Connor are not going to be back for a while...and I don't know when they are coming back. Is there anything you want to do?"

"Yes" His eyes drift down from my eyes to the lower region of my face and come to a stop at my lips. I stare down into my cup of hot coco and my cheeks become even redder. I probably look like a tomato wearing a hat. "I...I saw a trail not far from here, maybe we could go up and catch the sunrise. There is a little cliff with a viewpoint up there."

I nod, a little nervous about being alone for the day with Oliver.

But mostly excited.

AHEM. Sorry if that was terrible, I wrote that in about 20 minutes but I'm tired now so I'll probably go to bed! This is my first author's note so if you actually got this far thank you for continuing to read this because I haven't updated in a while! BYE!
