MIKES POV
after dinner with lilli bean my mum called me telling me that she's running low on her vitamins and she needs me to run to the pharmacy. i left lil with a kiss on the cheek and a lousy excuse as to why i had to leave. as i drove to the walgreens by my house i thought over everything that's been happening in my life. for one i have a new best friend two i havent told her about my mums condition three my mum is getting worse everyday even though she still manages to stay some what joyous and positive. as i walked into the walgreens into the back of the store to the pharmaceutical isle i made my way to the pharmacist behind the counter "hi, i need a refill for karen clifford" the tall brunette smiled and nodded her head asking which medication needed refilling "i dont really know. i know that's bad but im sorry i know its the vitamins for her heart so it doesn't.... ya know" i slammed my hand over my heart signaling 'stop' hoping she would catch on. she nodded her head with a small smile, walking to the back to bring me back my mums meds. she came back with a small smile on her thin pink lips "thatd be 10.99 sir" i sighed under my breath knowing that my mums meds and treatments are really breaking my pockets. i handed her a ten dollar bill with a dollar and began walking away with my mums meds as she shouted to me from behind the desk "tell your mum to stay strong lad!" i flashed her a toothy grin and gave her a thumbs up "i sure hope she does" i mumbled under my breath.
