(Tokyo, a few weeks later)
School feels incredibly boring after the brief excitement of meeting Drift, and Etsuko finds she can hardly focus.
She hadn't known Drift that long, but he had made quite the impression on her. She hopes that maybe, one day, their paths would cross again.
It had been thrilling and terrifying to get swept up in the fight, but looking back she realizes she's lucky to be alive; if any of the Cybertronians had accidentally stepped on her or attacked her or her father, they'd be dead.
But, luckily, the Autobots won the day and now life has gone back to fairly normal, except for a few nightmares, but if that's the only repercussion of associating with alien robots, she'll take it.
Finally, the bell rings and Etsuko is brought back to reality. She shakes herself a bit and begins to head outside, where her dad is waiting.
"I have a surprise." Kenji says as he hugs her and leads her to the parking lot where she sees-no way...is that..? No, it couldn't be!
Could it?!
"He was outside the house this morning when I returned from dropping you off." Kenji mumbles in her ear so no one else could hear.
She has to keep from running over, also having to manage her excited facial expression as she eagerly gets into the car. "Drift-san! It's so good to see you!" She greets, buckling the seatbelt as Drift begins to drive out of the school and back to the house. "How are you here?"
Drift chuckles, his voice coming through the radio like before. "Ultra Magnus assigned me to maintain covert surveillance in this area for any sign of Decepticon activity, since I am already familiar with the city."
Kenji smiles. "We are always happy to see a friend."
"I am grateful for the chance to see you two as well...and, if it isn't too much to ask, stay with you again."
Kenji nods. "You are always welcome in our home, Drift-san."
Etsuko smiles. "This is actually perfect timing, Drift-san. How would you feel about another street race?"
Suddenly, it's like no time has passed at all as Drift drives the pair through Tokyo.

"Man, Earth really is beautiful..." Moonracer muses to herself, standing on a mountain top enjoying a sunset on a mountaintop. Her leave from duty "No matter how many times I see it, the sunset is always worth taking a look at."
She still can't believe that not only is she a full member of the Elite Guard, but that she has had a leave to do a little sight-seeing as she adjusts to Earth, this strange new planet she's found herself on.
And yet...Moonracer can't help wondering what she should do once her leave and sight-seeing are over.
She then smiles, an idea forming in her mind, one she hopes will be approved
I wonder if he'll need help with his ship..?

Ultra Mangus almost finds Vehicons not worth he or his team's time, but regardless, they have their orders; clear the area of Decepticons and destroy the portal before any more Decepticons can use it.
His hammer slams into one of the last few Vehicons and he straightens to see his team finishing the others before they start setting the explosives Wheeljack had built for these one-way portals.
He may not have anticipated the results of his arrival on Earth, but he knows in his Spark he wouldn't go back and change anything.
He stands a little ways away, watching Mirage, Bee, Optimus, Wheeljack finish their mission.
Earth is a strange planet, and every day he learns more about it and its people. Allies and friends come in all shapes and sizes, Magnus has come to lean. Drift was a surprising defection, though admittedly Magnus had never personally had dealings with him as a Decepticon. At first he was rather hesitant to fully believe that he had actually defected and was prepared to dispatch Drift with prejudice if it turned out to be a trap. He found himself rather grateful to be proven wrong upon meeting Drift, however. He has become a valuable asset to the Autobots, even beyond the intel he provided.
It seems even Decepticons can show honor, can realize the error of their ways.
And perhaps an old Autobot Commander can himself adjust his stubborn ways, if only a little, can learn new things.
Such is life on this new and often confusing planet, it seems, but instead of resisting change and trying to maintain his set ways of thinking...he had adjusted his perception of things, at least enough to allow him to fully accept Drift as a comrade and even to begin to truly trust him.
This planet brings about changes Ultra Magnus had never anticipated, but he can't say he doesn't find this planet pleasant.
He calls to his team, ready to return to the base. Their work is not done
