Chapter 12

Chesa's POV

I came late to homeroom that morning, because of the bus arriving to school late. As soon as I opened the door, everyone is crowding around the teacher's desk, looking at some kinds of papers that were scattered around the desk. I heard people saying how ugly they look, some yelling on what this person did in the picture and others are quite, and just looking at them.

"What's going here?" I asked Genko, who was causally looking at the photos.

"It's the photos from swimming carnival." He replied to me as he showed me one of Dennis and Duke, posing together with such bright smiles. Another one with Nickolas posing and Genko covering his face. I chuckled at Genko's pose in the next photo. 

"Hey look Chesa, Genko! There's a photo of you two right here!" Nickolas yelled out, waving the picture in the air trying to get our attention. 

Genko and I walked over to him and Nickolas set the photo down the table. My cheeks start to become red from what I just saw in the photo.

Omg I can't believe that teacher took that picture?! It was an picture of me and Genko sitting together at the Swimming Carnival, not even paying attention to the camera. We looked like we were laughing away. I have a feeling that people are going to get the wrong idea of us being in a relationship or just being friends.

"Ooooooo good thing that teacher got a sneaky shot of you too." N says as he took another good look at the picture. Dennis then snatched it away from him.

"It looks like you two were having a great time. If you know what I mean." Dennis snickered, with an smirk look forming on his lips, and both Genko and I were blushing.

"You two looked like a cute couple in an advertisement for a dating site." Duke says and the other two laughed and teased us some more. I looked at Genko and he was blushing a lot. I flashback to the time in Swimming Carnival.

Flashback
I sat next to Genko the whole time as I was so unsure what to do and couldn't find Faye either. I talked to him and sang him some random songs that came up through the speakers and tried to sing every single one of them. With all that fun passing by, I wasn't able to share a moment like this with Tadashi as he was not here today on this warm and sunny day.

I looked at the picture again and thought, wow this is actually kind of cute. This could be me and Tadashi, but he ain't even here or won't notice me. I then looked over to Genko who was busy talking to the other boys. I thought to myself, what if liked Genko instead? 

I do talk to him more than Tadashi and can hold the conversation more easily with him. He's a sweet guy with a shy personality and his nerdy, Korean look with those glasses on. Then the thought hit me, I forgot he has someone else he likes and he's cheering me on with helping me become close to Tadashi. 

I sighed and shake my head to get rid of that thought. All I can do now is let my feelings decide on what happens now.

I walked with Genko and Alejandro to my art class and they happen to be at K block which is close to my class. We knew that we were somehow late to class because Alejandro took too long from getting out of homeroom and our classes were really far from where we live. Still, we just took our time anyway and just chatted to each other. 

Suddenly, we hear an noise from one of the empty classrooms. It did not sound pretty as well.

"What was that?" I said. The three of us stood still until we heard more crashing noises and a man yelling. 

It can either mean some kind of abuse or the man was just really angry that he had to flip the table. We followed the noise and lead into some room called K2. We peeped from the window as slowly as we can so they don't catch us spying on them. When I got a good look, there was a disturbing scene that made believe in disbelief.

"That's President X and....." Genko started off his sentence.

"And Tadashi." I finished it off for him. 

We watched as the Student President abuses Tadashi while he tries to fight back with his own bare hands. I couldn't stand watching this anymore as I know, I must do something to help and save Tadashi.

"I'm going in." I said firmly as I rushed off to the door of K2. Genko caught my arm and stopped me.

"You can't! It's too dangerous."

"My Senpai is getting beat up in there. I'm not gonna watch him die either." I swatted his hand from my arm and burst the door open.

"I'm gonna go with her just for back up." Alejandro informed Genko as he ran after me. 

I froze for a second when I was finally inside the classroom. I saw the president throw a cardboard box at Tadashi and my eyes filled with rage. I ran over to them and before the President can throw another punch, I stopped him by holding up his arm back.  

"Hey you! Stop this right now! Why is the Student President beating up an student?!" I yelled as I rushed over to Tadashi's side. Alejandro followed me and stood behind me.

I heard the Student President make an 'tch' sound, clicking his tongue. He slowly walked up to us and eyed me. 

"I did say, whoever was the culprit shall receive punishment. Tadashi has been caught in the act so he shall be punished." The President spoke with a slight evil tone. 

Suddenly it hit me. It was about the Student President finding an artwork in his office. I looked at Tadashi who has face filled with cuts and bruises. I didn't want to believe that Tadashi did it but, I also don't want him to get hurt anymore.

"Now if you excuse me, I need to finish punishing this kid. I suggest you step out the way or you can join in too." 

The President was about to throw another punch. I was prepared to defend and block his punch but Alejandro rushed in and shoved him back where he fell backwards on to the floor. Alejandro gave me the signal to go, stretching out one arm to block us. 

"I'm taking him to the Infirmary. Come one Tadashi." I helped him up, along with my books that I'm holding and walked out the classroom.

"Chesa, what are you doing?" Genko asked me.

"I'm going to take Tadashi to the infirmary. Just go to class." I replied to him. Before he said anything, I walked off, carefully helping Tadashi.

Genko's POV 

"Chesa wait!" I called out to her. I start to run after her, but Alejandro stops me. "Alejandro let me go, I have to with her to help treat Tadashi." I struggled from his grip on my arm but he wouldn't let me go. 

"Genko no." He says firmly.

"I know you want to run to her, but didn't you agree to help Chesa out with getting her to be with Tadashi? She finally got her moment so I don't know why your running after her." I stopped struggling for a second and let Alejandro's word of wisdom sink in. 

He was right, I did agree to help her.

"Unless you suddenly have feelings for her just then and wanted to prevent her from falling for Tadashi even more?" He added and gave me a smirked look.

"Eh what?! No no! It's not like that. I'm just worried about them that's all."Alejandro wraps one arm around my neck and attempts to swing me around. 

"That somehow sounds bullshit. Don't lie to me Genko." 

"I'm not lying!!" I began to struggle my way out of his arm and eventually he let go of me.

"Come on Genko. We should go to class now. We are kinda late, and the president is gonna catch us any second now." I sighed heavily and followed him onto the next block of classrooms. 

Sometimes I wonder, if I was in there instead of Tadashi, would Chesa saved me?
