Chesa's POV
"H-How are you?" I say nervously, my hand slightly shaking the phone.
I was nervous as I don't know what to say on the spot. Talking on the phone is actually a bit harder. I mean the only people I talk to on the phone are my family, but that's mostly like 30 second calls just so they can check up on what I'm doing or where I was.
This one was a conversation.
With a guy.
My best friend.
"I'm alright. What are you doing now?" He replied. I started to walk around and lightly kicked a few rocks on the concrete ground.
"I'm just chilling outside so you don't hear the noise inside." In Filipino parties, it is always loud. Really loud. Especially with the loud voices they have, the amount of karaoke singing they have. This time, it was at a hall.
"But aren't you with your friends?" He questions me, thinking that he took me away from my friends. Not one of them stopped me, but I don't think they noticed that I ran out.
"Yeah I am but, I ditched them to go talk to you." I say. Oh damn! That was smooth. Yeah, I know I am pretty lame at times.
"Awww. You should go back soon, I'm sure you want to catch up with them." Oh, he probably did think that he took me away.
"It's okay. I'll go back there once they serve the food." I flicked my wrist and tried to swat a fly that had landed on my hand.
"Haha okay." Then then the conversation went dead silent for a few seconds. Damn I'm not great at this, thinking of things on the spot was frying my brain so much that I feel like this was worst than telling Tadashi that his rat tail was pretty.
"Hey! What are you doing here?!" He says with a slight annoyed tone.
I was caught off guard. I heard some background noises of the door opening and closing and some light footsteps. I heard of a girlish laugh before it left Genko's side.
"Eh what..?" I responded while I raised an eyebrow.
"Oh no, not you. It's my sister that came in. She stole my iPad just now." I heard him breathe an heavy sigh as I can imagine him rolling his eyes. Sister?? He never told me that.
"Awww, I didn't even know you had a sister. You only told me that you have two brothers."
"Haha sorry I forgot to tell you. I can't believe she just stole it like that."
"I didn't hear you put up an fight when she try to steal it."
"I couldn't be bothered and I was tired." Lazy butt.
"Could of snatched it off her."
"If I did that, she would cry. She's only in grade 5." Wait what?!
"What?! I kinda thought that she was older than you." I don't know but every time someone tells me that they have a sister, I automatically think that she's older than the person. Yet, I'm wrong half the time.
"Haha nah, she wouldn't be stealing it in the first place." I heard him let out a giggle which sounded unusual.
"When would she be going to high school? Next year?"
"I think the year after I graduate. So, you will see her when your in Year 12 while I'm gone." You mean I can't see them together and compare the two? I really wonder what his sister looks like.
"Awww I can't wait for that. I'll be her sister!"
"No, she'll think you're a pedophile." He says so casually, with a bit of a snickering laugh. How rude!
