The thief, who previously introduced himself as Flynn Rider, used some of the arrows he picked up during the guard chase to climb down the tower. Now, using arrows to descend down the tower was no easy feat—at least, for Bumblebee, it was hard. Bumblebee was rather impressed with the thief and decided to say to him, "You know, for a thief, you're pretty clever. Didn't count how hard it would be to use these arrows, though."
Flynn Rider couldn't help but smile just a little bit. "Hey, I always gotta be prepared for anything, right?"
In a split second, his mood changed drastically from casual to annoyance. He looked up towards the balcony where Rapunzel and Pascal were standing. Flynn asked, feeling rather agitated, "You coming, blondie?"
Rapunzel just stood there looking at the vast open world that was just within arm's reach. She had tons of mixed emotions and thoughts. *Should I really do this? Will Mother be mad? I trust Bumblebee, but can I really trust this Flynn Rider? I'm so close, though. This is the closest I've ever felt to wanting to explore the outside world. I'm sure it's not that dangerous like Mother said. Here I go.*
To Flynn Rider and Bumblebee's ultimate surprise, Rapunzel used her hair to descend down the tower at high speeds. Bumblebee was astounded by Rapunzel's adventurous spirit, and he felt this feeling, a feeling he's never felt before.
Could it be... love? Nah, Bumblebee thought to himself.
Rapunzel, who had just reached the ground, felt incredible. She never felt so alive. She gasped and declared in glee, "I did it. I can't believe I did it. Best day ever! Come on, guys." And just like that, Rapunzel sprinted towards the woods.
Bumblebee said happily, "Rapunzel, wait for us!"
Just as Rapunzel made it to the center of the forest, a flock of beautiful blue birds flew past her. Rapunzel could not take her eyes off of the beautiful sight with the sun casting a beautiful glow that felt healing...
As soon as Flynn Rider and Bumblebee caught up to Rapunzel, she hugged both young men and said, "Thank you. I don't think I could have done this without you guys."
Flynn Rider said, "Ah, it's nothing, Blondie. But I think it's best if we avoid ruffians and thugs, though."
Bumblebee started to glare at Flynn Rider. He could sense Flynn Rider was planning something—a trick up his sleeve, perhaps.
Rapunzel replied to Flynn's comment, "Yeah, I think that'd be best."
Flynn all of a sudden decided to ask, "Are you guys hungry? Because I've got a perfect place for lunch." Behind Flynn's words, was motivation. Motivation to get that satchel back so he could have the crown, sell it, and perhaps live on an island all alone, surrounded by enormous piles of money.
Bumblebee, still not letting his guard down around the thief, asked rather suspiciously, "Where to?"
Flynn Rider said confidently, "Oh, it's a glorious establishment. You're going to love it."
Meanwhile, Mother Gothel was on her way to get Rapunzel some paint for her birthday, when she could see Maximus trying to sniff out something. She gasped at the rider. It was the captain of the Royal Guard. Her heart nearly stopped. In the nick of time, she hid behind a tree before he could see her.
She gasped rather heavily. "This is not good. If the captain of the Royal Guard were to actually reach... But what if there are other guards at the tower? Rapunzel!"
The captain of the Royal Guard saw Mother Gothel run off in the distance. He asked out loud, "Um, ma'am, do you need help with something?"
Mother Gothel was unable to hear the captain of the Royal Guard's question completely. She was just too concentrated on getting back to the tower.
As closer Mother Gothel got to the tower, the more eerie the sky got. She then cried out as soon as she reached the tower, "Rapunzel! Let down your hair! Rapunzel!"
Now Mother Gothel was beyond panicked. She used both of her hands to break apart a blockade made entirely out of rocks that revealed a secret passage. Mother Gothel ran up a long flight of stairs. Eventually, Mother Gothel reached the top of the stairs only for it to be a supposed dead end. She could feel something loose up above her. She knew exactly what it was. It was one of the tiles of the floor above her. So, with one big lunge, she pulled herself up from the darkness and into the tower, which felt like it had no life in it.
She quickly asked out loud again, "Rapunzel?"
Mother Gothel desperately searched every nook and cranny of the tower, hoping that Rapunzel was somewhere, but she nowhere in sight.
Mother Gothel could not believe it. "Someone took Rapunzel. How will I ever remain young and beautiful forever?"
All of a sudden, she spotted something shiny. It appeared to be under another loose tile on the floor. She made her way towards the shiny object. As soon as she saw that it was the royal crown of the lost princess, she gasped loudly. She was horrified.
But then she noticed that there was something else inside the satchel—it was a wanted poster for Flynn Rider. Mother Gothel knew exactly what had to be done. She darkly opened a cabinet door and grabbed a dagger.
