Sophie Lee scurried out of the office where her father was, scooping up the files that she dropped before hurrying back in to stack them up on his desk. Today was orientation day for her four years in university, and Sophie's father had asked Sophie to help him with the documents and the guides.

Whitechapel University was a very well known and famous university. It focused on all kinds degrees but they were divided up with the different campuses.

Sophie herself had decided to focus on fashion, against her mother's wishes but she insisted that Sophie go pursue her dream, which was being able to open her own successful fashion shop, possibly even creating her own successful brand. She also wanted to get a second degree for business, which would help her with her dream. Coincidentally, these courses were both at the north campus that her father, Derek Lee, ran.

She was still amazed that she had been able to catch up during high school after her accident and graduate at the same time as everyone else. Sophie was lucky enough to be naturally talented in school but she felt that she never got to know anyone.

They all knew she was supposed to transfer in during sophomore year for the second semester. But then she got into the accident that threatened her life. The doctors said she had been in a coma for three months before they finally had been able to revive her.

Sophie shivered, as she turned around to leave the office. She remembered the day she woke up exactly, from the endless abyss dreams she had to the worried glances of the people in her hospital room.

"Sophie," the sweet soft voice of a woman called out. Sophie looked around her lonely abyss, trying to locate the source of the sound.

"Hello?" she called out hopefully. "Is someone there?" Her voice echoed out emptily. The silence was her only answer.

Sophie turned around and put her face in her hands. Far away, she knew there were souls reaching Paradise and singing praise as they finally gained their eternal peace. On the other side there was the earth plane. Where the living people stayed.

How pitiful, Sophie thought. Only I am in between both places. I belong nowhere.

"That's not true," another voice whispered. It was different from the woman's. This one was distinctly male, and awfully familiar. But Sophie didn't know anymore. She wasn't sure about anything anymore.

"Sophie," the same voice said.

"Sophie." This time it was the woman's voice again. It was so sweet and soft and the way she spoke sounded so heavenly poetic that Sophie couldn't resist thinking that if she knew her, the woman was definitely a very good friend.

"Sophie."

"Sophie."

"SOPHIE!"

The voice was still a woman's but Sophie could tell that it was a different person. It was so loud and unexpected that it shocked her immensely, causing Sophie herself to jump up and squeak in surprise.

"SOPHIE! Please wake up!"

Sophie closed her eyes, hoping that it would shut out the voice also. It made no difference for her sight. When she opened her eyes, all she saw was a vast black plain with nothing and a dark sky. By closing her eyes, everything became pitch dark. The absolute darkness welcomed her.

"Sophie! Please!"

Annoyed by the disturbance of her usually quiet prison, Sophie opened her eyes to rant at nothing to be shut up.
