Pulling apart from the hug, Noah smiled at Sophie before tugging her back towards the direction of his car.
"We should really get going before they send a search party for us," he joked, and Sophie couldn't help but giggle. Not at the fact that his cheeks were a bit flushed, which she knew she would definitely have to tease him about later, but at the fact that she knew her father would legit have sent out a bunch if people to try to find their location if they indeed be discovered to be missing.
They headed back to Noah's car and got inside. Quickly, they drove back on campus and was able to somehow sneak their way into the crowd of lost students without being discovered. Sophie blew Noah a kiss as she turned around to leave.
Surprisingly, Noah came up to her and held her face in his hand, before giving her a last little peck on the lips.
"See you later Soph," he said before smirking and disappearing into the crowd.
Flushed by his boldness, Sophie turned around and ran smack into someone's chest.
She looked up to see a boy who seemed a bit familiar. It was the same boy she ran into that morning after having to hurry out of her father's office. The boy was tall blonde locks slick back, and as Sophie look at his eyes, she realized that one eye was blue and the other was brown. Heterochromia iridium, she thought.
The boy looked at her and his eyes widened for a moment. He opened his mouth to speak, but then closed it again, as if thinking it was better not to.
"Sorry," Sophie muttered, embarrassed and confused.
"Nah, it's fine," he said with a British accent, as he combed his hair back with one hand, as if it was a nervous gesture.
"I'm Ryan," he continued. "Ryan Lightwood." He offered his hand for her to shake.
"Sophie Lee," she replied with a smile as she shook his hand. "I'm new here too this year, but my father is the director so I know most of the stuff needed."
Ryan smirked too, and she noticed dimples appear on his face. "So does that mean I can count on you for anything?" he asked, that charming smirk still plastered on his face.
Sophie smirked. "You can't depend on people for everything you know," she said which made his smile even wider.
"You can help me though can't you?" Ryan seemed to plead as she realized he legit knew nothing about the school.
"Yeah. I can I guess, if I see you around," Sophie sighed. She looked down at her watch and almost gasped. "Oh I'm really sorry I have to go somewhere right now and I might be late if I don't get going."
"Kay, then bye," Ryan waved as he turned around to leave.
"Bye. See you around," Sophie replied.
She turned around one last time and saw Ryan smile. Not a smirk like before but a genuine smile as his unique eyes lit up.
As she turned to leave, she couldn't help feeling like she'd seen those eyes smiling along with the rest of his face before.
Haven't updated in forever but here's the next chapter!
