Chapter 18- The desert

Clio's POV

I won't give up on anyone or anything especially you, Theseus, never. I will fight just to let the war come to peace.  I thought. We walked out of this horrible candy world using Anna's map but before that we encountered this ginger bread man scaring us so that we stay but Max was still hungry she approached the ginger bread man and ate it and we escaped. Next thing we needed was to know where Luke was.

"We should change our hairdo for a while so that no one and I mean no one would recognize us." I suggested

"But I don't want to change my hairdo." Thalia whined 

"Even if your best friend's life is on the line?" Percy asked

"Okay just for Annabeth but in one condition." Thalia said

"And what's that?" Aly asked

"We change it back as soon as the war is done." She answered demandingly

"Okay." I said. I started walking looking for a Salon. After thirty minutes of walking we had no luck on looking for a Salon.

"Where are we exactly?" Max asked

"Manhattan." Anna answered

"Oh… yeah… right." Max answered sheepishly walking to Percy's side.

Nico and Melody were talking about bones again and not concentrating on what we're looking for. Suddenly at the corner of my eye I see a big purple sign saying

"Natalie's Salon." Finally a salon.

"Hey guys over here." I called out to them.

We ran for it because everyone wanted to seat down because of exhaustion. As soon as we entered; we crashed on the couch.

"Thank the gods." Melody mumbled

"What can I do for you?" An employee asked.

"We want to change our hairdo." Nico answered

"This way please." She said directing us to nine vacant chairs.

After all that, Percy had blonde hair, Nico had blazing red hair, Grover had green hair because he said he wanted to be like Juniper isn't that weird, Anna had night black hair it was like I was going to see stars on her hair it was amazing, Aly had purple because it was her favorite color, Max had blue because of the ocean, Melody had blazing red like her brother, I had my hair cut short, straightened and it was blonde with black highlights and not but not the least Thalia. We asked the employee fixing her hair to put extensions and make it pink. Thalia screamed when she say her hair.

"I HATE IT!" She screamed at the top of her lungs when we reached a park.

Nico, Gover and Percy were cracking up until Thalia shot them a death glare and Nico gave her death glare too. They were starting a competition on staring.

"If only looks can kill." Thalia mumbled. We continued on looking for look but with no luck. "Where could he be?" Grover asked

"We don't know; He might be in that candy world." Melody said staring into space.

"Hey what is that?" Aly asked

"Where?" Percy asked again

"There." Aly answered pointing at a glowing red triangle.

Thalia accidently pressed it and us yet again falling into pitch blackness. The air was getting hotter every second. When we fell we were in a desert or maybe even in Egypt. Memories suddenly were flashing in front of me. Theseus and I loved exploring and our favorite place was Egypt. Tears were coming back but I held them. No matter what I do with every breath I take my world is an empty place without Theseus. We were here in this desert but it felt like it was already a thousand of years. I don't know if it was mirage but I see your face. I'm missing you too much but I can't help it because I'm in love with you. I really need you by my side or else I won't know how to survive.  A day without you is like a year without rain. I thought but I need to think that he is there watching for me no matter what. I sobbed for a while and we continued walking on this barren wasteland.  It's like the ground is crumbling underneath my feet now but it wasn't how weird. We passed a cactus just like the one a while ago or were it just a different cactus. We were going around in circle but before I could tell my friends I fainted because of thirst and the heat.

I heard voices but before I could hear them clearly my eyes closed tight and i couldn't hear anything anymore.
