AMELIA

Let me just say, my bedroom's h-u-g-e. I had a spacious bed, full of soft pillows and a comfy blanket, a closet which was also big, already filled with clothes and a vanity mirror filled with different kinds and shades of make-up.

I tried on a dress it fits just right. It was a violet sundress that went just above the knee with a high waist and a few floral designs. I look at the vanity table and it was intriguing me. I don't usually put on make-up, but I tried it anyway and it's always a good idea to practice. I put on some face powder, applied nude shades of eyeshadow and clear mascara, filled-in my eyebrows and wore sheer lipgloss.

"What's the occasion?" Matt butt in all of a sudden, leaning on my door, an amused expression resting on his face.

"Nothing." I say flatly, finishing some final touches. "You don't know how to knock, do you?" I glare at him for intruding.

"But you're putting on make-up." He points out. "And I do know how to knock." He smiles annoyingly.

"I felt like it." I shrug.

I sit on the edge of the bed and pull out my phone.

Hey mom. I miss you. x

"Linda?" Matt asks, seeing the sadness in my face.

"Yeah, I just texted her." I sigh.

"Maybe you'll get to see her again someday." He flashes an encouraging smile.

"Amelia, Matthew! Dinner's ready." Alexandra calls out to us. I'm still not used to calling her mom yet.

"You look lovely, dear." Christopher smiles, remarking my new look when we got downstairs.

"Thanks, Christopher." I know, I didn't call him dad, my parents were great people. They didn't seem to be mad at Linda for escaping me and they understood that I needed some time to adjust.

When the maids placed the food, a lot of it, on the table, me and Matt were already drooling.

"Today's a special occasion and we celebrate Amelia's homecoming." Christopher started a toast before we dug in the food.

I miss you too, sweetheart. Hope to see you again.

Good night. Love you. x

As I read the reply, I couldn't reply anymore because I it started to rain on my face.

"Can I come in?" Matt came out of nowhere again.

I nod at him and he sat next to me on my bed. I sit up so we could talk properly.

"I know I've said it before, but I'll always stay at your side, Amelia."

"I know." I forced a smile.
