Graphic Schools

Hi! I am Lay Zee and I will be your graphic. Today we'll be learning how to make this cover!

First your open your canvas. Make it 512x800 and then add this model and texture on overlay.

Lastly, save your image as a jpg and post it here!

Graphic schools are people teaching you how to make a graphic. The sad thing is, these aren't the best for learning.

Most graphic schools will give you a tutorial and then ask you to try. They will most likely label the tools, but not tell you how to use them or what they do. For example, the burn/dodge tool. This tool will help lighten or darken your graphic and acts like your basic brush but in either white or black.

Now the reason these are normally not the best for you to learn because unless this is a one on one, it'll end after 2 weeks of waiting for the second lesson. Big ones or ones already started (with post in the last day or 2, seriously don't post after a week you look weird) are your best bet.

To open a successful school

-pretype at least 2-5 lessons or be sure you're gonna write them soon

-make sure your schedule is clear (clear: WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING TO DO OR A VERY COMPLICATED OVER SCHEDULED LIFE OUTSIDE OF WATTPAD)

-BE DEDICATED. DON'T LIE TO YOURSELF AND SAY "I'LL DO IT TOMORROW" WHILE LAYING IN BED WATCHING NETFLIX OR DRAMA'S OR YOUTUBE

-Be at a mediocre-advanced level. If you're a beginner or someone who believes they're "all that" after 2 months, wait. You want to do graphics for at least 4 months to get to know the program and have an answer instead of 'idk, figure it out yourself insolent stupid human child'

-Don't wait for late students. If you keep waiting, eventually you will have 2 students still active and 8 students ignoring you. Set a deadline, and unless they have a reasonable excuse, get on with it. Tell them to wait. You have a schedule. School doesn't wait for you and leaves you with 20+ assignments to do, and that's what makes it successful/hell

-Graphic Schools don't last forever. People's schedules change and unexpected things happen. Have in mind how long you want the school to be, and make it that long. A good school will be open for around a month, an awesome for a few months, and the average for 2 weeks until everyone disappears.

-Create a lesson plan. or an outline, whichever you want. Real life schools are successful because everything is neatly organized and they force us to be there. You guys want to do something similar. Former preferred.

-If you're not good at explanation, ask some one to help. The words 'idk im bad at explaining hope i didn't confuse you' at the end of your lesson doesn't help anyone. If you don't know what you're talking about, don't teach.

-STUDENTS ARE PROCRASTINATORS. IF YOU HAVE THEIR ATTENTION, UTILIZE IT. THEY MIGHT NEVER PAY ATTENTION AGAIN. LIKE SCHOOL.

To any students:

-Don't ask 'is this still going on' after 2 weeks. 3 days without any post or reason from the teacher is enough to ask this.

-If you're not dedicated, ask to 'stalk' the thread. This lets you watch what goes on and get similar lessons, but aren't being graded and don't have any type of commitment

-Try. Don't just follow the lessons, use what you learned. Do the lesson. Make 5 more graphics using that technique. or just one, depending on how much your procrastinate.

-See if their time frame for lessons are times that agree with your schedule

-Advanced, not advanced, beginner, etc. You always have room to learn. There is always something wrong with a graphic, but to make a good one is for it to not be too noticeable. Don't get cocky or arrogant.

-DO THE LESSONS. PLEASE. JUST DO IT. JUST DO ITTTTTTT. DON'T LET YOUR- okay no.

-If something is blatantly wrong in the lesson (ex. in photoshop the brush tool creates lighting textures, to work gimp you must be an expert!!!!112, you can't have fonts from anywhere else in pixlr, etc.) correct them in the nicest way possible and reasons why you can and how or why it doesn't do that and what it is used for.
