I'm about to go to a party. I have never been so afraid of anything in my life.

I make sure my dad is in his room before I plan my escape. I tip toe down the stairs and make my way to the front door. Just as my hand skims the handle,

Dad: Where on Earth do you thing you are going young lady?

My dad appeared behind me out of no where. Time to ooze confidence and sass it up.

Me: To a party, old man. And there is nothing you can do to stop me.

Dad: Okay then fine. Be safe.

What?! He is supposed to punish me, send me to my room...SOMETHiNG!

Me: Good...I'm gonna stay up late too, maybe be back at like err 11:30. Cuz I'm a rebel like that.

My dad chuckles.

Dad: Have fun, Violetta.

Why isn't he doing anything?

Me: Maybe I'll meet a nice boy and we will fall in love and runaway together and have a child OR THREE.

Dad raises his eyebrows in shock sweat forming on his forehead.

Dad: On second thought, perhaps it would be better off if you stayed at home...I never did punish you for that...thing you did...that day...

Me: YES--I mean...You are so annoying sometimes dad grr I am going to my room.

And I stomped upstairs in anger and sent a text to Leon telling him I won't be able to make it to his party. Guess I won't be going to my first party after all.😅

Lesson Learnt: Dad's can sometimes seem over protective but you gotta love them.
