Step 5: Saying no to Saying Sorry

I have always had this habit of apologising about everything I do even when it is completely and utterly not my fault. If you were to bump into me on the street because you weren't paying and texting on your phone it would be me begging on my knees for forgiveness.

One thing that I realised was that Ludmilla has never said sorry in her life. I guess it some how gets her respect from others because, due to my analysis, if she never says sorry for her wrong doings it implies that she never makes mistakes and if she never makes mistakes she has priority over everyone.

Fran and Cami had just left me to go to singing class with Angie, I didn't go with them because I don't take any gifted and talented classes because well, they require something called "talent". I make way over to the class that I do attend, Amazing Arithmetic for those who aspire in maths. It's not very popular.

After yesterday's hallway rush, everyone knows to get out of my way when I'm trying to get to class. I have like ten minutes to get to maths class so I decide to spend five of it playing flappy bird. Yeah it's old, but I can't get past 59 .

After a couple of minutes I start to get a cramp in my neck and so decide to stretch a bit. Though, I stretch a bit too much because as my leg extends, it trips someone up as it's too late for them to redirect their route. I watch them wince in pain and pat away the dust on the slacks.

Me: I'm--

I cut myself off from saying sorry. The old Vilu would be drowning them with sorries and apologies but the new Vilu waits for them to say sorry for getting into her way even though it was absolutely, positively her fault.

We have a little stare down him waiting for me to say sorry and me waiting for him to say sorry. It get boring and stupid after a while so he gets up, dusts off his trousers mumbles a sorry and stalks off.

Way to stay strong Violetta! I nod my head satisfied with what I have achieved and make my way over to my maths class that was about to start.

Lesson Learnt: Forget what everyone told you about manners and saying sorry earning you respect, it's rubbish.
