I was laying on the love seat in our living room when I heard Dad talking on the phone.
"Yes. She is. Yes, she's one of them. No, she's a Dragowolf."
My ears percked up and my eyes widened. I ran to mom's room and knocked on her door.
"Come in, (Y/N)." She called.
"Mom!" I rushed inside and locked the door behind me, "He's told my secret! Mom, they know!"
"(Y/N), calm down. I'm sure--"
"No!" I snapped and found myself turning into my wolf form, "How can I be calm when there are thousands of mad scientists after me now, mom?"
I paced around the room, stressed and scared.
"Honey! You've got your teeth! Bite them if they dare to come near you." She got up and went to unlock the door.
"No!" I barked.
She froze, "You've got to calm down, or you'll faint.", she went back to her closet and put on her favorite hat, covering her wolf ears.
Dad never found out about her, he only knows about me. How? Mom always, always has a hat on. She couldn't risk having her secret out.
"Mom. I'm scared." I whined. She's the only one that could understand my language when I wasn't in my human form.
"Baby, it's going to be alright." She kneeled down in front of me and scratched my chin.
"Can't we go?" I asked, knowing this won't end well.
"Go where, sweetheart?"
"Run away." Her eyes went wide, "We need to! I can't risk both our lives, mom!"
I pulled her to the window. We lived in a three-story house, her room was on the second floor, the biggest window leading to our big back yard.
"No, (Y/N). You're father will track us down. He'll find us eventually." She said.
"Then, go talk to him!" I said.
She opened her mouth, but a knock on the door cut her off, "(Y/N), dear. There's someone waiting for you down stairs."
It was dad, "You better be down in a second."
"I'll be out in a minute, dad!" I barked.
"I can't understand you!" He shouted.
"She'll be down in a minute." Mom said.
I waited for the footsteps to get far enough, "I'm not going down there! They'll take me away!"
"They won't." Mom said and opened the door, "Change back first."
I nodded and changed back, walking downstairs.
"She's a beautiful one." I heard my dad say to whoever was waiting for me, "You'll love her!"
I walked into dad's office and waved at the two men sitting at his desk.
"Hello, Mrs (Y/L/N)." One of them slurred.
"Hi."
They both wore those fancy clothes with fancy shoes and a hat.
"Pleased to meet you." One of them turned to me. He had one eye! One eye!
I nodded and looked at dad, waiting for him to talk.
"So, as I've told you, She's a Dragowolf. She's one of the rarest hybrids out there. She can't use her powers correctly still, but she'll learn. She's seventeen years old with a great personality." I listened as he talked, not wanting to do anything stupid, "And, she'll gladly leave with you, so you can check on her and teach her how to use her powers and improve her skills."
