A/N - Hi, hi!! I'm just as surprised as you all that there is another equally long chapter posting so soon after the previous 18k word chapter. This one, though is only like 13.5k??? Something like that. It might be closer to 14k but who's counting?? (It's me, I'm counting lol!) I did want to go over a few things that were just mildly interesting to me if that's alright!
I did say a few chapters ago that Wave arc would be starting soon and I'm proud to say that we finally get into it next chapter. Woohoo!!! I finally get the write the stuff I've been wanting to write!!! I will try to put TW on some of those chapters because the stuff I've got planned are 100% going to make some people somewhat squemish. And please bear with me as I'll have to write angst, injury, medical jargon, healing stuff, as well as battles which will take a LOT of time. I'm already anticipating the amount of ao3 curse nonsense I'm going to have to go through just to get the chapters out.
As a head's up for my newer readers, I do take a break during the upcoming holidays - America, yadda yadda - so don't expect many chapters between Novemeber and December. Speaking of Novemeber, I'm actually going camping with my fiance so I'll be MIA that second week of Novemeber and then the fourth week for Thanksgiving. Pretty sure I'll be traveling during December, but I'm not sure when! Hopefully, by the time January comes around, I'll be alive again lol.
Other than that, please enjoy the chapter :3
"LEE!" Naruto can't help but cry out with a gasp, wide-eyed. He screwed up. There's no reason, no other piece of evidence to suggest otherwise, especially with the way Lee is suddenly careening towards the ground, pale-faced and in tears. He dashes away from Guy's anxious grasp, expertly catching the other teen before he could even touch the ground. Was it the booster pellet? Did he not do enough testing?
Had Naruto hurt him?
"Lee!" Guy is beside him in an instant, pushing the boy's bangs up and away from his face, searching for something. He peeked at the medic-in-training as if he'd grown a second head, similar thoughts running through his mind.
Naruto moved to hold out a glowing green hand just above Lee's chest, trying to seek out any internal injuries he might be experiencing. The lack of a response so far is already making him nervous. "Are you okay?!" He utters when his diagnostic internal scan comes up with nothing. If there's nothing, then why was Lee damn near about to pass out? Why hasn't he passed out yet? Naruto gives him another long look, Guy still petting the boy's head, gently trying to coax something out of him. "Does something hurt?" He asks when his nervousness takes hold of him.
"Thank you..." A wispy voice croaks out, "...thank you..." Lee manages to open his eyes, hiccuping on his words. He gives Naruto a weepy smile before burying his head into the blond's chest, ignoring the other teen's frantic questioning. The eight gates aura seemingly fizzled out, the energy zapped from him, his body sagging against Naruto's.
He searched for a second time with his healing chakra because Lee's condition and the fact that there was nothing seemed plain wrong. He ran it over the other boy's body, searching for something, anything to heal, but other than some sore muscles, there was still nothing. He made a weird noise in his throat that seemed to startle Guy back to life. "What?" He asked hastily, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing..." The medic-in-training whispered back, wide-eyed, staring down at Lee's quivering body, still tucked carefully into his stomach. Naruto looked up at the jounin who'd been owlishly staring at him, worry in his dark eyes. "There's nothing... Nothing." He managed to say. "He's good."
