JUSTIN-
“Crap.” Rachel muttered trying to figure out a Rubik’s Cube. “This thing is impossible.” Chaz laughed. “What?”
“It’s not impossible; you’re just not good at it.” He said pointing to the cube. Rachel sighed and set it down. The past few days had been boring as hell. We went to the beach and Rachel was finally able to persuade Chaz to go swimming with the dolphins but after that we really just sat around doing nothing.
“Maybe we should just leave now.” Rachel said lying back on the couch. “Chaz and Ryan could come on tour with us.” She said with a smirk. Rachel had forgiven Ryan but only after she literally made him get down on his knees.
“Dude, we so should.” Chaz said to Ryan. They both smiled and looked at me. I shrugged.
“It’s not my decision to make.” I said. They pretended to pout but then went back to the Xbox. Rachel stood up and pulled out her phone, fingers flying as she texted someone. Whoever it was replied right away and whatever they said made Rachel happy. Then she was on the phone talking to someone.
“So, who is it?” She asked excitedly. There was a little buzzing noise on the other end of the phone. Apparently this was the most exciting news of her day, I’d never completely understand girls, and then again, her phone conversation is probably the most exciting part of my day too. She babbled on to her friend you apparently so dating some hot dude that bother girls thought was ‘delicious.’ Rachel flopped onto the bed on her stomach and kicked her legs back and for. “Jess, I miss you so much, you should come on tour with me again.” She said. The phone voice buzzed on. Rachel rolled onto her back and gave me a quick flirty smile and wink. I smiled back then her eyes wandered to the ceiling. When she finally hung up she started to surf the web, every so often looking at a piece of her hair. “Guys.” She said jumping off the bed. We all looked at her. “I love vacation as much as the next person, but we aren’t doing shit.” She came and sat next to me. “So….” She started with a devious smile. “I think we should go to New York!” She grinned at us. Chaz looked excited, Ryan gave her a curious look, and I was confused.
“How could we go to New York?” Ryan asked.
“Well, I was just on the internet and they are having a sale type thing and tickets to New York are like dirt cheap.” She said with a huge grin.
“Dirt cheap for you is like a million dollars to me.” Chaz said.
“I’m paying!” she said looking from face to face.
“I can’t let you do that.” I interjected.
“Okay, I’ll pay for me, Chaz and Ryan.” She said.
“How about we split it evenly?” I asked, she nodded her head then ran out of the room. When she reappeared she looked giddy.
“Julie and Kenny said we can go!” she said running to her suitcase.
“Wait when do the flights leave?” Ryan asked.
“Tomorrow, but we have to be there today.” She said with a laughed. “They leave at 1:45 tomorrow.”
“In the morning?” Chaz asked incredulously.
“No Chaz.” Ryan said rolling his eyes. Thank goodness it was only 3:00 in the afternoon that meant we could get some sleep.
“Pack!” Rachel yelled disappearing into the bathroom and reappearing looking as sexy as ever. “Pack!” she replied, “You can stare at this,” she gestured at her body, “later.” We all got up and grabbed our suitcases. Rachel ran around the room searching everywhere, checking and double checking every space. She grabbed Raisin’s leash and kennel placing her inside then she removed all our stuff from the fridge. “Urm.” She said when all the suitcases were piled against the door. She pulled out her phone, quickly texted something, wrote down a code and confirmed that the flights were booked.
“How much do I owe you?” I asked
“$1670” I nodded and we gave one last look around the room. I looked at the clock. 5:30.
“Why are we leaving now?”
“I want to walk down the beach one last time.” She said grabbing her bag handle and Raisin’s kennel. “Let’s go.” We headed out. What we didn’t think about was taking the dog downstairs.
“Excuse me miss, what’s in that kennel?” A desk clerk asked.
“My rare grown plant.” Rachel said without stopping we followed her led. The clerk walked around and stopped us.
“May I set it?”
“No, it eats annoying people with no life.” She said trying to walk around him.
“Miss.” He said holding out his hand. Rachel kissed two of her fingers then she tapped his hand. “Miss, I’ll need to see what’s in there.”
“No you don’t, so fuck off.” She said running around him. She made a dash for the car and we followed. She ran through the car park until she found Kenny and Julie, our car was right next to theirs she threw her bag in the car and climbed into the back of the car to place Raisin there, she strapped the kennel in and jumped back out. She opened the trunk and we threw our bags in. The desk clerk was chasing us still, this dude is persistent. Rachel held out her hand for the car keys I quickly passed them over and she hoped in the front seat. Once everyone was in she locked the doors and we sped away.
RACHEL-
“Are you like… an escaped convict?” Chaz asked laughing.
“Yup.” I said with a smile. “Off to the beach we go.” I said turning on the radio. Julie and Kenny were close behind, and then my phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Why were you running from a desk clerk?” Julie’s voice rang out.
“He wanted to see what was in the kennel, but we would have been in huge trouble if he saw Raisin.” I explained.
“Why would you have the dog if you weren’t allowed one?” Julie sighed
“Cause Justin got it from me.” I said in a high pitched voice. Justin smiled next to me. Julie groaned.
“So are we going to the beach?” She asked. I nodded, and then realized she couldn’t see me.
“Yeah.”
