Chapter 385 - Songs of Fire & Wind

The snake serpent roared, thrashing side to side. Its collective mass slammed into Daichi's towering wall of earth, splintering the outer layers. "A mere wall won't stop me Daichi!"

Chunks of stone flew in all directions and dust whirled like a wild tornado at the monster's attacks. Orochimaru relentlessly assaulted Daichi's earth barrier and soon shattered the large solid rock defense.

CRASH!

With a deafening crash, the wall crumbled, showering the battlefield with broken stone and earth.

But Daichi had anticipated this very moment. 'I hadn't counted on that wall to stop you at all. It's there just to buy me some time to prepare my next move.'

Before Orochimaru could exploit the opening and attack the Genin, three Daichi clones emerged from various vantage points, each flashing through their own set of hand seals in rapid sequence.

The first clone slammed his hands into the ground. "Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld!"

A tremor ran through the battlefield. Suddenly the ground beneath the serpent heaved, softening at a supernatural rate. In an instant, what had been solid earth transformed into a quagmire of thick mud. The hydra's gigantic lower body began to sink, the mire swallowing it hungrily.

'What the? A swamp? This is one of Jiraiya's favored techniques. Did he teach him this jutsu?' Orochimaru let out a furious hiss from multiple mouths.

He tried to twist and thrash and yank his large Hydra-like body free. But the mud clung stubbornly to his scales, pulling his large form deeper with every convulsion.

"Is this the best you can do? You think mere mud can hold me?" came his echoing snarl, reverberating from several serpent throats.

[You have sensed killing intent.]

"Yeah." The real Daichi nodded his head with a smirk. "But since you're asking for it..."

As the serpent struggled, thrashing with monstrous force, the second clone seized the opportunity. "Earth Style: Gaia's Subjugation!"

Massive stone hands emerged from the swamp, strong and unyielding. They gripped the serpent's heads, body and tails with crushing force, securing the struggling monster in place.

Orochimaru growled furiously, eyes darting frantically to assess his predicament, but escape seemed impossible. 'Such powerful and precise Earth style ninjutsu. Is it possible that he... No. There's no way he mastered the third step of Earth Nature at his age.'

The heads snapped and hissed and struggled more, but the giant stone hands held them fast, pressing them down into the swamp. 'But the power of this jutsu. He must have completed the second stage of the Change in Chakra Nature. Since Earth Nature is his natural affinity, coupled with the chakra boost of the Hundred seals... I suppose it would have such strength.'

As Orochimaru analyzed and tried to break free of the stone prison, Daichi received new system notifications.

Away from the battle location, Jiraiya felt a wave of stunned admiration. 'That jutsu has enough power to hold down a weaker tailed beast. This kid's skill with Earth style ninjutsu is insane...'

Kakashi's eyes flicked to the third Daichi clone. That one hopped onto the remains of the earth wall, electricity crackling around its forearms.

The third clone leapt into the air as his hands weaved seals in a blurr. "Lightning Style: Everbright Prism Jutsu!"
